pretty good price for a solar shed light with solar panel separate from light

try to put the solar panel in a sheltered place away from rain so it will last longer

one of three of my old ones broke as I stupidly placed it under the eaves of the shed so it had water cascading (like a tap) onto it when it rained

the old ones were from this deal 4 years ago

Pretty rubbish to be honest

seems fine to me - bought one today to replace a broken one

And B&M said, 'Let there be light'....................... 'and there was light'.
(but only on a sunny day)

Poor quality avoid I had one it was rubbish you can get better ones from ebay

how does it get recharged in shed, being a solar powered one?

You need to also buy a dynamo for your bicycle. You then pedal while doing what you need to do in the shed. Seems like a hassle, i know. But, what do you expect for £6.99?

How can you avoid the panel getting wet in the UK. If rain is going to damage it, its pretty much useless

wet from just rain is fine

the issue is that if the panel is directly under the eaves in the wrong place you get a stream of water off (like from a tap) coming off the shed roof directly onto the panel

thats what broke 1 of my 3 panels - the other two which are just fully exposed to the rain are still fine after 4 years - even the one that broke lasted around 4 years

If you open the link you'll see it comes with a solar panel on a wire which is to be fitted externally to the shed

Bought one last year... Quite dull at night... Not really worth it

theses ones are pretty weak, I bought 2 a while back. As for the keeping the solar panel out the rain just use a bit of clear outdoor garden tape over the solar panel. Seals it up to stop water wicking in and still allows the panel to work. good for any of these cheap solar lights

Just put strips of polytunnel repair tape over the panel. This will waterproof it and doesn't impede on the charging ability.

Too much hassle as you have to wire it up to the dynamo as not a standard connector. I have mains power in my shed, so instead run a high UV/anti SAD lamp directly over the solar panel, when I'm not in there, to charge it.

Crap product - I had two in my garden shed - They are very very dull !

Okay, so... any better alternatives?
