These are very good, and a lot cheaper than EGLU cubes. However this is not really a 'deal' (i.e. discounted) as this is their normal price.

Thinking of putting granny flat on side of house for mother in law. This far more cost effective

Just keep the chickens for eggs.

This is an eggcellent deal. You'd be clucking mental to miss it.

I'll get my coat - they were fowl puns, I was just winging it.

This type of house is far superior to the wooden tongue and groove designs that tend to harbor the dreaded red mites..

and not in the same league as eglu chicken runs and nowhere near the build quality nor do they hold their price like eglu houses and runs. not bad price though and as it's not wood you won't get red mite

agreed and easier to clean and I guess like eglus you can jet wash them

But the eglu does not stand up well to UV light or weathering. Also I would say the solway would long out live an eglu, the plastic on the solway coop is 8mm thick.

We bought 2 of the Solway Smart Hen House ones last year for our farm and within days of installation we found 2 small immigrants living inside them .

You should have let your cock loose in there, that would have got rid of them!oO

These are excellent (had one for a couple of hens at our old house). Voted cold I'm afraid though, as this is basically price we paid about 3 years back.

No inflation in the last 3 years? Hot from me! In all seriousness, thank you for posting this digs no idea this product existed - we have the space but my wife is worried about the mess chickens will make of the garden, may get bantams as I hear they make less mess

the one in the photo is more like £400

£350 if you select 2 nest boxes instead of 4.

Overpriced if you ask me, buy a cheap shed treat it with creosote won't suffer with many of them. Don't use straw or use a wood based bedding on the floor it harbours them. Use some ash from the fire if you can or know someone can save you some you will never have problems with them as they can't breathe in it and make sure your chucks can bathe. I have a setup where one part of there run is always covered and dug over so they can dust bath in there anytime they wish.

These things are great for avoiding giving places for mites to naturally lay eggs but there still way over priced for how much they hold. I bought a shed for £20 second hand treated it for a £10 and use the above advice my chickens may get the odd mite in hot dry periods but they don't last long and easily are treatable.

Use Diatomaceous Earth instead of the store bought stuff most of it contains crappy chemicals that are over priced and under perform. You can also use the earth in your feed mix to get rid of any parasites within your chucks too.

Great, we have the mother in law coming over for the weekend, I have somewhere to put her now

If you're going to start keeping hens, make sure you know about Defra guidelines that are currently in force regarding avian flu. Hens need to be kept away from wild birds, so under cover of some sort.

I love the word "from" in the title, this is sooooo not a deal, it's normal price........waste of time

Atleast have the pic of one that costs £190.Clickbait.

Also includes free rat infestation

Hell of a lot easier to wash a plastic coop though. We kept ours in a wooden shed but next time would go for something plastic.

are you affiliated with this company? you posted the exact same deal 5 months ago for the same price so clearly not a deal.

Clean what? poop gets nicely dried out by the ash I use, any other bits of poop in boxes (use ash there too) you dry brush off? Plastic coup you could jet wash without risk of leaving it wet, but why are you clearing your box that analy it's a chicken coup, they walk in there own ****, scratch soil and eat bugs and worms. As long as your chucks clean themselves it's all good. Chickens are clever and resilient, people complain chickens die all the time for no reason. Just isn't the case.
