Son of Rambow is one of those fresh, inventive coming-of-age films that, whatever you may have read about it already, youll be pleasantly surprised by what you find has actually wound up on screen.
The film revolves around the unlikely alliance of two boys, and their attempts to remake, or rather, reimagine Sylvester Stallones Rambo: First Blood. But, like all great British movies stretching all the way back to Ealing, theres so much more to it than that. Aside from the relationship between the two boys themselves (Bill Milner and Neil Dudgeon delivering tremendous, finely nuanced performances), there are subplots involving a supercool French exchange student (Jules Sitreks scene-stealing Didier Revol), a curious religious sect and a little bit of sibling bonhomie. All told, with its nostalgic recreation of the 1980s and the experience of growing up in the age of the video, Son of Rambow is like the flipside of This is England: one to file somewhere between the riches of Kes and the dreaminess of Billy Eliot.

Ahh good film this one, one of the few 'Orignal' films we get these days... had some great comedy moments, two boys worked brilliantly together.

cracking film -original, british, entertaining, well written, reasonable acting.

definately worth £4 even for a single watch!

Awesome, a definate must buy for only £4!

Great film

Great price for this film although I watched it and didn't enjoy it as much as others have.

Heat added. ;-)

Hmmm got bored watching this film, not sure why, only the odd funny bits for me....

Not a bad film at all for the kids.

Not my cup of tea, but I've seen a hell of a lot worse =]

Eric Sykes as Rambo, unbelievable.

Because it is written by a visionary director who sadly can't write as well as he can direct.

Yeh I had high hopes for this, specially seeing the trailers.... Think they put most of the funny bits into it...

Very disapointing film. Any dvd's over £2.99 nowadays have to be good or very recently released.
