Although Sonic has graced a number of consoles since SEGA bowed out of the console race, his entrance to Wii ? Sonic and the Secret Rings ? was perhaps the title closest to his original platforming roots. Removing the slower paced adventuring of other titles, Secret Rings focused on speed in both platforming and combat. Sonic and the Black Knight continues this tradition, moving the series from the Arabian Nights to a medieval inspired land of legend. Players will still meet some familiar faces along the way, each in their own fantasy roles.

Retaining the speed of the original, Sonic and the Black Knight provides tightly woven action levels that keep the pace fast and require the quick reflexes of older 2D Sonic titles. Keeping things fresh, Sonic now has a huge sword at his disposal that must be used to mow down enemies on his way to facing the ultimate knight of Arthurian legend.

Sonic and the Black Knight retains what made the original Wii Sonic title so refreshing, adding a choice new gameplay mechanic in the form of Sonic?s blade.
