Its british and made to last. It has proper bike components, aluminum frame is so much lighter and so will be much easier to ride for your little one.
You could also get one 2nd hand if too expensive and it would still be better.
I'v recently spent far too many hours researching bikes for our 4 year old and the ridgeback stands out after reading many reviews on the internet all excellent.
Go into a shop (cyclesurgery, evans etc) to view and compare the difference, as its not a cheap 'toy' from china - its a proper bike.
