Just bought using Revolut for £9.12
UK eShop is £15.99
Change region at accounts.nintendo.com (can't have any credit on your account to change region)

PSA: Most debit/credit cards have a 'foreign transaction fee'. Check yours if you don't already know.

And Visa and Mastercard have their own exchange rates

How do you buy Russian credit

In Mother Russia, credit buys you.
I've waited 23 years for this game, I think I can afford to pay £16 for it. That and I saw this post after I'd already bought it!

Seriously though, I'm happy to have spent a bit more if it makes it obvious to Sega that there is still a demand for this sort of game. If it was £30+ I'd then be more inclined to look for cheaper prices.

I know, cool story bro!

You don't. You change your Nintendo account region

How do you buy Russian credit

OP has apparently used Revolut, a paypal-type system that you deposit money in and can use a virtual card to buy things, usually from different regions that don't accept your normal credit/debit card.

I'm curious as I've not got Revolut to work with either the Mexican, Japanese nor Canadian Switch eshops.

Nope
Can I just use my normal debit card on the Russian eShop to make this work? Or do I need to use this Revolut app?

Nope

Just checked on nintendolife and there are some rumours about there being a physical release but they are just that, rumours unfortunately.

It's 184MB why bother

Cause they could of thrown in sonic 1,2,3,4, knuckles, spinball, mean bean machine, cd, adventure, adventure 2,shadow, (heroes no) and unleashed
Dame, should of waited a few hours lol

Still loving this game. Finally Sonic is back!!!
Just bought this, to clarify:

-It runs in English, and the software title on the home screen is also in English
-Did not need to use Revolut, Visa debit worked fine (although i'm sure standard currency conversion fees will apply)

Good find op.
I thought you had to set up separate accounts for each region. Where do you change region for your account?
Nice one got it for 9 quid
I believe the preferred way to switch is by creating a separate account. That's what I read
After buying mania, can you change the region back to uk??
Sorted. Just setup anew account and then bought from Russia store! Even worked with my credit card so no messing about with eshop cards! Thanks

It's so good. I can't believe Sega have made a good Sonic game. It only took 23 years since Sonic & Knuckles.
It says it'll unlink my Nintendo Account from my NID or something along those lines, by changing region. Can I switch region, buy it, switch back and link things back up again without any issue?

I used my normal Visa to buy Splatoon 2 from the SA Eshop and got charged £1.00 conversion charge. So with debit you'd pay around £10

You will have to relink them, I did anyway.

Shame this isn't the PS4 price. There's just not £16 in this for me but I'd jump at £9. Hot.
Of course the only caveat here is that your news will be filled with Russian language stuff!

Is there a way to delete the Russian account from the Switch but keeping access to the game? A minor annoyance, but hey ho.

DOH, looks like I should just have changed the region instead of setting up a separate account?!

edit: actually I knew there was a reason to set up different accounts - you lose any balance you might have if you change regions on your main account, no thanks.

edit again: ah, it's fine, I just changed the region online back to UK, I'll just play swapsies with this account, some stuff on the Norway eshop I'm after too.

Yes
Nice, was tempted at £16 for around £9 it's a no brainer.

Just used my credit card which doesnt charge fees, easy peasy

Change my region on my account to russia, then changed it back again and relinked NID. I dont keep credit on my nintendo account so not a problem for me.

Thanks OP
very easy to do.

go to your nintendo account.

Change region and save

Either on your web browser ( russia nintendo eshop ) or on the switch itself. Buy the game
Swap back to english
Game downloads in seconds as its small.
Great game, me and my son love it
This is probably a silly question but not done this before, reading the post it says (cant have credit on your account to change region) does that mean your credit has to be 0.00 to be able to switch???

Sounds a real dumb question lol

It means your eshop wallet must have nothing on it, a balance of 0.
heat added, but this is Nintendo we are talking about, while Microsoft and Sony are fine with this type of thing, with nintendo being nintendo part of me worries that they will do something to stop it and knowing them ban accounts etc

Well that was easy. £9.16 via Revolut, done. Shows as purchased when I login on the UK too.
