Would this work with tv recording from Samsung toshiba or lg tv

Cannot see why not supergirl, the drive is USB powered and most smart tv's
have a pd usb port, the drive might need to be FAT32 formatted to be seen
but have used windows format usb drives and no problem as a PVR storage
or access point..

Would try it if you asked monday for you, but not got it yet!

Just a note of caution, it says it works with smart TV's but this might be for viewing movies, photographs etc. not recording, I'd be interested in knowing if if does work for recording though as was going to look for something that would record on my Samsung TV.

Ok I will wait until the op bitcoin5 confirms this on Monday x thank you for the advise guys
Anyone familiar with Sonnics as never heard of them before - any good?
Sorry do not no much about these, is it straight forward to plug into laptop store photos etc?
The description is misleading - this is NOT usb 3.0. The specs says it’s usb 2.0 only. And the casing looks very close to those chinese cases you can buy on eBay for less than £5.
320 gig usb2 and people are buying it? the worlds gone mad.

Huh? It clearly states it is USB 2 interface, but will work in USB 1/2/3/3.1 if you have it? I looked at the option
of buying a drive, buying a case but thought this was worth it anyway.

Had a smooch about prior to buying [2] on the Sonnics website and a few other lurky sites
and all seems above board and ok, not found the actual drive inside yet, but if pops up
will post it, will pop one open monday/tuesday to see the guts.

Thought it was a good price for the GB and smallness, who cares if its usb2 for £24
its going to be faster than most crappy usb pen drives with a much smaller GB size!

You may need to elaborate on that, old bean.
Will play files off it on the TV but wont record its to slow my LG OLED refuses to write to some of my usb3 flash drives and says their to slow the same as my other LG LED. They need to be a pretty fast drive to record and usb 2 is nowhere near.

Yet the Hisense telly I've just had delivered quite happily worked with a crap USB 2 stick I stuck in the USB slot.

I would use a powered USB hub though if I was going to plug something like this hard drive into the telly.
considering you can get 1TB usb3 for £40, an old 320gb usb2 for £24 is a bad deal, this stuff has been out of production for years :))

What if you only need 320GB and USB2 speed? Is it still a bad deal? Utter nonsense tbh. Sounds like you're one of those that buys more than you need or will use simply because the telly told you to do it.

I don't understand.
Would this be OK to hook up to my child's tablet so they can watch movies from it. I'm getting mixed messages from reviews. I don't really want to spend a lot considering it's for an 8 year old.
