You really need the rear speakers. As a stand alone sound bar I found it pretty underwhelming.

Tempted everyone I see a deal for this, I currently have a budget soundbar and sub, would this come close in terms of sound quality without a sub? As im not spending £600 on the sonos sub...

If it's quite a small room, then they sound surprisingly good by themselves. The size of the sound stage is impressive for the size of the soundbar. You could always add the Ones later - or even pick up used Play 1s on eBay for cheap, as they are still great speakers.

Same, it’s definitely on the radar, just how good is this though? Ie is this as good as soundbars around the £200 mark?

Someone sell me it 😜

It sounds good by itself, especially in a small room. The Playbar has significantly better bass though - it may suit you to stretch to that, as it's still a fair bit cheaper than the Beam plus Sub. Depends if you want the TV voice controls. But depending on your setup of TV, separate Echo/Home, etc, then you may be able to do voice controls another way.

I've had the Playbar for a few years and I planned on eventually adding the Sub. But once I added two Play:1's, I was happy with the sound and never bothered adding the Sub, as there's plenty of bass.

In the daytime, you don't need loads of bass for TV, sport etc. In the evening when you actually watch films with a lot of bass, I find myself putting it on night mode to reduce the bass anyway!

I have this and 2 Sonos Play:1s. Probably no need for newer Ones if you've got the soundbar too. You could even try the IKEA Symfonisk speakers to pair with them
Great price, knew it'd be sub £300 before Christmas. No need to spend like crazy on Black Friday, there's always an eBay code deal around the corner.
Code has typo in it. Should be PROSPER10 . Bought one, thanks

Yeah cheers, have just updated.
Great deal - I paid £314 on the Thursday before Black Friday and I think that was the cheapest available (excluding Very). I would jump on this if I didn’t already have one
Stupid question time. Is this the same as the £349 Sonos beam with Alexa, apart from the Alexa feature, or is the one with the Alexa feature a newer model?

There is currently only one model of Sonos Beam, and it includes a microphone array for Alexa or Google Assistant. There is no Sonos Beam without that feature.
Thanks mate saved me some money there as rang Richer sounds and they were happy to price match!
Are these still £284 over on amazon.de or Italy?

Edit: When you consider the extra stacked incentives (not mentioned) with the ebay deal..... I reckon the ebay deal is better

If you want the play 1s as surrounds please check cash Converters loads for £80 ish
Alexa is not very good on the beam imo use a dot

I disagree with that, we have multiple dots around the house and the Beam seems to be the most sensitive in my experience.

Did Richer Sounds match the price or beat it?

Matched it. I guess the ebay discount is what they gave to 'beat' the Peter Tyson price of £329. Maybe worth trying to give them a ring to see if they can beat it..that should be another £10 off.

Mine is terrible it’s painful and it doesn’t give ring alerts like the Dot

Beam better than the dot I think. If I'm between the two the beam is one that picks it up.
Worth noting the playbar isn’t compatible with HDMI arc, whereas the Beam is.
The surround speakers are good upgrade but a sub is a must if you enjoy your surround sound
You could also use the code to get the Sonos Sub for £529 if you have the beam already.
Been looking at swapping a 5.1 tannoy mercurys + denon amp to a sound bar and sub setup as prefer the minimalist look now.
Thinking Sonos is the way to go after getting a One in the kitchen quite impressed with the little thing.

I have the beam and the playbar and there is very little difference in sound quality between them. You can also connect the Ikea speakers (£79) as rear surrounds. Bargain!

I’ve just phoned up Richer Sounds and they will do it for £286 so pleased with that.

You can add IKEA Symfonisk shelves, instead of One SL, as rears. Would be significantly cheaper (especially when IKEA family discount goes live). They are not as good as One's, but for rears should be absolutely OK.

We don't know the size of your room.

I have a small one, maybe 15sqm. Beam has quite some bass, I was surprised. (not a dedicated sub, but more than I expected from soundar)

It's good. But don't forget that it is Alexa (with voice control over TV) and Sonos as well. Plus ARC.

Actually, I had Dot before in front of the TV and find Beam much better in picking the voice. Plus it reduces the volume during voice session, which is _very_ handy.
Great deal - ordered

Double check your tv is compatible as some Samsung tv’s that have arc do not pass through the 5.1 dolby signal, check the Sonos community pages.... there is a work around though using a splitter but don’t get caught out!
Does the Sonos sub make a vast difference I have the beam and 2 symfonisk surrounds and base sounds excellent?

Interesting. Never knew about this. I have a 3yr old curve Samsung and luckily it works fine. Will bear this in mind when I replace the tv

In a word; Yes lol. I used the beam without the sub and thought it was really impressive. I then bought the sub and play1’s for surround sound and it’s like night and day. Truplay tuning is a must with Sonos speakers
