”This compact Sonos soundbar could transform your entertainment experience.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2019 Product of the Year.

Listen to music, TV, movies and more – all from one box

It might look like a simple soundbar, but the Sonos beam does so much more. As well as dramatically improving the sound from your TV, the Sonos music streaming system is well established as one of the best going. With easy access to your own music library plus support for 50 streaming music services, the Beam has all your entertainment needs covered.

Immersive, cinema-quality sound

With four full-range drivers and a tweeter, the Beam gives a seamless sound across the frequency band. The speakers also push the sound wide, giving you a spacious and immersive sound that you wouldn’t credit from such a compact unit. To make sure that action movies have the ‘edge of the seat’ thrill they deserve, three passive radiators give the bass that extra intensity. For the ultimate in surround sound, you can add two extra Sonos speakers as rears, giving you a great immersive experience. Should you require even more bass then simply add the Sonos Sub and treat yourself to a cinematic experience of awesome power!

Easy voice control – just ask Alexa
Find the right music for every moment on Spotify. Search any artist or song, create and share playlists, and get personalized recommendations. Listen on Sonos and control the music with your voice, the Spotify app or the Sonos app. With five, far-field microphones on board, Beam can hear you – even from the other side of the room. (Spotify Premium account required for full features).

Control much more
Play songs, check news and traffic, manage smart devices and enjoy all those other helpful Amazon Alexa skills using a single Sonos Beam speaker.

Now featuring Apple AirPlay 2 for seamless streaming from your Apple device
With AirPlay, stream directly from your Apple devices or ask Siri to play your favorites from Apple Music throughout your home.

Privacy when you want it
Sonos understands that your privacy is important. For this reason, when the microphone LED is on, Alexa is ready for voice commands. When the light is off, the microphone is off.

Easy setup
Connecting the Beam is easy. Simply connect to the mains then plug in your TV via HDMI. Compared to traditional home cinema systems you don’t just save on boxes and cabling but set-up time, too.

Compact size
At just 651mm wide, the Sonos Beam fits spaces ordinary soundbars won’t go. If you want to fit the speaker inside a cabinet or you use a narrow surface to support your TV, the Beam fits where others don’t. Compact height and depth dimensions also make the Beam unobtrusive and less likely to block the view of your TV.

The Sonos system
Sonos gets better when you add more speakers. Play a movie in your living room, a podcast in the kitchen or the same music across all your Sonos speakers – flexibility is key. The latest Sonos components link via your home Wi-Fi but for very best results, linking one component to an Ethernet connection will allow you to take advantage of the famous Sonos 'Mesh' system.

Strength through numbers

The more components you add, the stronger the dedicated wireless mesh becomes. Best of all, because it runs independently from your Wi-Fi, the reliability and strength of the signal is unaffected by Wi-Fi dropouts.

Get the sound your TV and music deserves and enjoy effortless voice control, with the Sonos Beam.

do these support Atmos and DTS:X?

On its own no Sound Bar can really produce ATMOS or DTS:X sound. They can process the metadata but without overhead satellite speakers or upward firing speakers and satellite side and rear speakers it isn’t true ATMOS or DTS:X sound. Both technologies aim is to expand upon 5.1 and 7.1 surround-sound set-ups with surround channels coming from overhead. It’s actually refreshing of Sonos not to con people into thinking otherwise.

Amazing soundbar, if you have small-mid size room that's all you need. Crystal clear sound and great bass, no need of a subwoofer
This one or Bose Solo 5?

Hi dre, the White is still available
Am i correct in saying once you have this plugged into your tv that you can only listen to the tv with this on, if so then thats very annoying

I searched and could only see black or with a mount/sub.
Denon 316 sounds better than this. Appreciate it doesn't multiroom but with Spotify on my LG TV it does the same job.

No. It plays music through there app from your phone. Either from your library or through 'services' which are music streaming apps you download. A subscription to one of the biggies is needed as YouTube even needs the premium sub. There's a way round this by downloading sonastube. Works okish but even this is a paid app from the play store and it doesn't work well alongside the sonas app if you have them both open

That’ll be because Sonos is a hardware manufacturer not a sound metadata producer such as Dolby. Suggest you do some googling

The YAMAHA YSP-5600 does a good job ... Surround sound from a 44-speaker array in a total 46-speaker configuration —the most in YSP history
Six height channel speakers on each side provide 3D surround sound reproduction equivalent to 7.1.2 channels
The latest surround sound formats, Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X.

these are two of the soundbars that I am looking at, have you compared the sound of both?
Great bit of kit. Paid £360 for mine a few months back. We have a relatively small living room and it fills it with nice spacious sound

Doesn’t the 316 come with a sub too? That would make a big difference to the overall sound. How easy is it to add reads to the 316 when you want to?

Yes it does come with the sub, heard it in Richer sounds and was very impressed by it. Wasn't even on the radar tbh, was looking at the YAS207 and Beam and the Denon came in as a left field option with the demo of it's great sound delivery. Hard to find many reviews for it though.

Can you add Heos rears to the 316? I know you can further up the range. That may be a deciding factor (it would be for me).
Could this work with my samsung tv remote so not needing 2 remotes?
No Heos support for the 316 as I believe it's 516 and above. I listened to the beam and Denon side by side in Currys and the Denon with sub has a much greater presence. I do have Sonos so it would have made sense to add to it but without the sub it just doesn't do enough for me at that price.

Should do, assuming you have a TV with an ARC HDMI port. I only use the one remote for mine.

I got it one the release date for full price, and would happily pay that again. Works brilliantly in our living room.

Now all I need to do is convince the wife that we need a new TV...
Amazing sound for its relatively small size. Pricey but well worth it.

I just wish they would do a better a deal for the sound bar + 2 rears. An expensive combo if bought separately.

There's a really expensive Samsung one that has weird batteries of speakers which aim to achieve surround sound and atmos... Don't know how well it works.

Do you know if you can use this to connect your Sonos ceiling speakers and bridge to the TV? I can play all the stuff off my phone like you said through the speakers but can't get the TV to do the same. I'm guessing then there will be an audio lag too?
