sorted byOr if you have work discount get Beam 2, Sub Mini and 2 One SL's on that. IMO much better than just the stand alone Arc. Of course if you add all that to the Arc, then the Arc is better. But personally I love the form factor of the Beam and wouldn't want the Arc.
If you never plan or want to add the Rears and a Sub, then the Arc to me is the better choice, £595 is a very decent price for it. I just prefer the Beam 2 with everything added. I would also say Stand alone Beam 2 vs stand alone Arc. The Arc could be percived as x2 as good, as it has actual Subs, more speakers for lows, mids and highs and actual Atmos with real upwards firing speakers. (edited)

Would I feel a massive difference if I switched to this? I'm struggling to justify spending 3 times as much without knowing how much better it would be.
I heard that by adding two IKEA speakers you get surround but then the total would be almost 500£! I struggle to believe that it would sound 5 times better than my current setup...
Please convince me before my wife makes my head roll
Sonos shines on ease of use, especially if you have Apple devices. Airplay really is lovely to use.
To me for a main TV, you really need the two rears and Sub or Sub mini to get the most out of it. I can't explain how much having the Sub transformed the sound from this system for me. Honestly the 5.1 set up really is lovely to listen to. Films are stunning. It's just a £900 investment to get to that stage.
So short answer, unless you want a hole in your wallet stick with the Yamaha as I highly suspect if you're rightly questioning price to performance gains now, Sonos might not be the best brand for you. However I would personally recommend The Beam Gen 2, to anyone that either plans to have a great bedroom set up, or eventually get the rears and a sub for main TV use. (edited)
