Enrich all your entertainment with the latest generation of Sonos compact smart soundbar, now with Dolby Atmos.

Experience panoramic sound and crystal clear dialogue for shows, movies, and games. And when the TV is off, stream music and more from all your favorite services. Control is easy with the Sonos app, your voice, and Apple AirPlay 2. Add speakers to create a wireless surround sound system and enjoy multiroom listening. Everything connects over WiFi.

Exceptional sound all around
Dolby Atmos maps sounds in space for a 3D effect so you experience planes as if they're flying overhead, hear footsteps moving across the room, and feel the score surround you.

Crystal clear dialogue
Oscar-winning sound engineers helped fine-tune Beam to make sure you hear every word and can always follow the story. For even greater clarity when characters whisper or the action intensifies, turn on Speech Enhancement in the Sonos app.

High quality even at low volumes
Advanced audio processing ensures balanced sound from wall to wall at any volume level. When you want to watch TV but need to keep it down, turn on Night Sound in the app to reduce the intensity of loud effects and enhance quieter ones.

Made for music
Stream from all your favourite services with detailed stereo sound, and feel more dimensions of the song with support for the highest-resolution formats, including Dolby Atmos Music.

Breeze through setup
Go from unboxing to unbelievable sound in minutes with only two cables and step-by-step guidance from the Sonos app.

Tuned to perfection
Trueplay tuning technology adapts the sound for the unique acoustics of the room so your content always sounds just the way it should.

Freedom of control
Sonos app
Connect all your streaming services, discover new music on Sonos Radio, and personalise settings.

TV remote
The soundbar syncs with your existing remote for streamlined control and no extra clutter.

Tap or swipe the top of the soundbar to pause the music, adjust the volume, skip a track, and more.

Apple AirPlay 2
Send sound directly from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, then ask Siri to turn it up from your device.

Hands-free help
Ask Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to set timers, check the news, control your smart home devices, and more.

Deciding between the two, is the Sonos Arc twice as good as Beam? Work discount gets me Beam at £300 and Arc at £595. (edited)
So for me no, plus the Arc is due a replacement soon. My personal preference is get the Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini when it goes on sales (It will eventually) and the some rears when on Sale.

Or if you have work discount get Beam 2, Sub Mini and 2 One SL's on that. IMO much better than just the stand alone Arc. Of course if you add all that to the Arc, then the Arc is better. But personally I love the form factor of the Beam and wouldn't want the Arc.

If you never plan or want to add the Rears and a Sub, then the Arc to me is the better choice, £595 is a very decent price for it. I just prefer the Beam 2 with everything added. I would also say Stand alone Beam 2 vs stand alone Arc. The Arc could be percived as x2 as good, as it has actual Subs, more speakers for lows, mids and highs and actual Atmos with real upwards firing speakers. (edited)

What are people's thoughts on the chances of this further decreasing in price? Maybe closer to Christmas or Jan sales?
I'd be surprised. This is the best its ever been

I have a tv on the wall that tilts forward. If I hid this behind the tv at the top where there is a gap (mrs won’t want it visible) does anyone have an opinion on whether it would still work well?
I personally wouldn't do that. Why not look at something like this. It looks great on my wall. powerbutton.co.uk/san…tml

Smart home sounds, extra £10 off for new customers and 6 year warranty for £339. £15 for extra warranty is well worth it!

Quidco also offering 7.5% Cashback if bought direct from
    Sonos. (edited)

Can I link sonos One (gen 2) with this Beam 2? (edited)
Yes add two to give left and right speakers, and the ikea equivalent Ones are cheaper but just as good.

Online chat just said 1 year warranty
Might as well buy it from smart home sounds for 339 with their 10 pound off through newsletter for 6 year warranty tbh

£349 at JL as well with 2 year guarantee
£339 at either smart home sounds or richersounds with 6 year warranty

Is this the version which Costco have at the moment? I think it’s £240!? Thanks in advance.
That would most likely be a Gen 1, an earlier version that goes for less

    Price back to 349 now

Think this is only 2 year warranty? For £20 extra can get 6 year warranty included at Richer Sounds
Definitely worth paying the extra. My Gen 1 has just packed up and Sonos said they can’t fix it as it’s outside of the 2yr warranty but Richer Sounds have sent to their engineer to attempt a fix and if not, they’ll give me some money towards a new 1.

Do you think J Lewis or anyone else will price match by Friday? (edited)
Have a read through the comments and you'll see that unfortunately JL have stopped doing their price match 😏

I really like my films and 4k blu rays and currently I'm "rocking" a YAS 107 bought for just over a hundred quid almost 3 years ago.

Would I feel a massive difference if I switched to this? I'm struggling to justify spending 3 times as much without knowing how much better it would be.

I heard that by adding two IKEA speakers you get surround but then the total would be almost 500£! I struggle to believe that it would sound 5 times better than my current setup...

Please convince me before my wife makes my head roll
To be honest from knowing Yamaha and seeing the spec sheet, Beam gen 2 would be an improvement but I would say not as day and night as you would want. As the YAS 107 has built in Subs I think you might feel a lack of base, even if the subs on the YAS aren't really up to much. The Beam gen 2 will be a huge improvement for speech clarity and you should hear a big difference. I just feel like you might feel like its not worth x3 price when side by side. The biggest jump is often TV speakers to any half decent sound bar. Then gap between low priced and mid range is often x3 price to x1.5/x2 performance. The diminishing returns often gets worse the higher up you go, but not always.

Sonos shines on ease of use, especially if you have Apple devices. Airplay really is lovely to use.

To me for a main TV, you really need the two rears and Sub or Sub mini to get the most out of it. I can't explain how much having the Sub transformed the sound from this system for me. Honestly the 5.1 set up really is lovely to listen to. Films are stunning. It's just a £900 investment to get to that stage.

So short answer, unless you want a hole in your wallet stick with the Yamaha as I highly suspect if you're rightly questioning price to performance gains now, Sonos might not be the best brand for you. However I would personally recommend The Beam Gen 2, to anyone that either plans to have a great bedroom set up, or eventually get the rears and a sub for main TV use. (edited)

Good price - I bought from Richer Sounds last week at £349 and very impressed so far. (edited)

Why did I buy this on eBay last month for £370?
I’m just pleased Richer sounds were absolute a****** and refused to price match that deal when I tried store and central number! Utter idiots, they’d have full well known the deals coming as the discount to 350 has been at every retailer and sonos themselves and this was only 2 weeks back. Offered me 405 as a ‘goodwill gesture’ the clowns.

    Why are Sonos so expensive?
    Same reason apple are (edited)

Sigh. I bought this for £425 literally ten days ago from Argos.
Can’t you return or ask for pricey matching as it seems very unfair

Great spot, cheapest I’ve seen so far! 🔥

Is the gen 2 worth the extra £80-£100?
Thinking of getting one but was going to get the gen1 deal at Costco until I saw this :/
Wouldn't say it's worth the extra money unless you watch a lot of Atmos contents, have got the gen 1 and gen 2 and even playing Dolby Atmos can't tell the difference but highly recommend rear speakers with the beam. (edited)

Does anyone know if you can connect 2 Apple HomePod’s (the full size ones) to the Beam Gen 2? Or, do I have to buy Sonos speakers?
Nope. You can only have Sonos speakers as surrounds, or a Sonos Amp + wired speakers (edited)
