Control much more
Play songs, check news and traffic, manage smart devices and enjoy all those other helpful Amazon Alexa skills using a single Sonos Beam speaker.

Now featuring Apple AirPlay 2 for seamless streaming from your Apple device
With AirPlay, stream directly from your Apple devices or ask Siri to play your favorites from Apple Music throughout your home.

Privacy when you want it
Sonos understands that your privacy is important. For this reason, when the microphone LED is on, Alexa is ready for voice commands. When the light is off, the microphone is off.

Easy setup
Connecting the Beam is easy. Simply connect to the mains then plug in your TV via HDMI. Compared to traditional home cinema systems you don’t just save on boxes and cabling but set-up time, too.

Compact size
At just 651mm wide, the Sonos Beam fits spaces ordinary soundbars won’t go. If you want to fit the speaker inside a cabinet or you use a narrow surface to support your TV, the Beam fits where others don’t. Compact height and depth dimensions also make the Beam unobtrusive and less likely to block the view of your TV.

The Sonos system
Sonos gets better when you add more speakers. Play a movie in your living room, a podcast in the kitchen or the same music across all your Sonos speakers – flexibility is key. The latest Sonos components link via your home Wi-Fi but for very best results, linking one component to an Ethernet connection will allow you to take advantage of the famous Sonos 'Mesh' system.

Strength through numbers
The more components you add, the stronger the dedicated wireless mesh becomes. Best of all, because it runs independently from your Wi-Fi, the reliability and strength of the signal is unaffected by Wi-Fi dropouts.

Get the sound your TV and music deserves and enjoy effortless voice control, with the Sonos Beam.

I have just taken out an Onkyo Atmos Amp and Speaker setup and replaced with Sonos Beam and 2 x play 1’s. Some would say I’m mad and although the sound is not quite as powerful from the Sonos setup the quality is still very good and less complicated than wired AV systems. I don’t regret my decision as we have a lot more space (no big sub, no huge front speakers, centre and floor standing surrounds). Very happy with the change as my room is on the small side and had too much bass before which rattled our single glazed windows etc... my advice would be buy new Beam and second hand play 1’s, I paid £130 for x 2 if you are short of space and want an easy to use system. Great bonus of stereo sound and connectivity to streaming music services etc.

Yep good deal! I bought from Currys 8 days ago at £359 but then price matched them to £349 (that was 8 days ago so can’t price match this). Heat from me!
This is what price should be. Given usual selling price though this is a cracking deal.
Great device, hot deal
Good price. I’m waiting for the overdue Google integration. Then once I see how well that works I might get one. Hopefully the price will be sub £300 by then. Maybe wishful thinking but competition is pretty high for sound bars.
I have a decent home cinema 5.1 set up but it's got to be 15 years old

Acoustic energy evo 3b speaker package £700
Pioneer vsx D 2011 reciever £900

Ive moved into smaller house, the lounge room or probably 4x4m tops and can't work out what to do.. Are current modern smaller systems good enough? :/

Sonos doesn't do atmos, but other sound bar manufacturers do. I would stick to what you've got now

I have Acoustic energy neo 3's and 1's powered by an onkyo 606. Like you we are now in a semi detached and basically I can't get this system to work quietly and I don't want to pee the neighbors off. Thinking of getting a soundbar to replace. I know the quality will be no where near what I have but maybe it would get used a lot more.
I've never heard a soundbar though so not sure what there like.

@bevanoli I would of thought your Leg eggs would blow Sonos out the water.

Love that! No worries
Tried this but prefer the Sky Soundbox for just sound quality (even without Sky). Worth a look at ebay for them.
Forgive the ignorance, but whats everyone's obsession with Sonos stuff?

Has 1 HDMI port and to get reasonable sound out of it you need the £600 sub..Surely you're just better off spending the money on HTZ-F9 or whatever?
I have a pair of Sonos play 1s, and I have the Sonos Sub and they sound lovely BUT, I cannot understand for the life of me why I can't cheaply connect my TV to the setup I have. Why should I need to spend hundreds of pounds on anything else when I already have what I do. Frustrates the hell out of me.

It depends on your needs really. 1 hdmi is enough for me as it has arc so plug everything you need into you TVs hdmi’s and it will all pay through the Sonos. The app and its setup is second to none. Nothing comes close in my opinion in terms of app support, streaming service compatibility and ease of use. You won’t need a sub unless you plan on using it in a very large room, just 2 x play 1’s. If you want greater / louder sounds then the playbar would be better than the beam but then I am very happy with the beam. Sound is very impressive for such a small device.
Highly recommend this, I love mine.
Is atmos where you need lots of speakers or are people talking about bars that do it virtually
Can this connect to a turntable? I have 2 play:1's but you need the 5 or the hub to connect to a turntable. If this negates that, I'm sold.
Is this better than my current set up please can someone tell me?

Harmon kardon soundsticks with Google chromecast audio and TIDAL hi-fi.. Just wanted opinions please.
This is the same price at Currys so I can get a further 8% off (plus 1% quidco too I think) - Is it better to do that and just get the standard warranty? It would work out to around £300.

You will save £29 and have a standard warranty of 2yrs.

The way to think of it is, by spending an additional £29, you get an additional 4yr warranty.

Worth spending the extra in my mind.

@TristUK this was a worry of mine before I bought the beam a few days ago. I found out that the Google integration will be done using the sonos app software. You will be able to select which voice service you prefer Google or Alexa.
Would this and two sonos play 1's be a decent set up to have for a beginner for surround sound in a 3m x 3m room?

I'm not an audiophile but just want something half decent that dosnt take loads of space. I guess it would all be wireless too? (Perfect for me as I hate wires showing!)

I've listened to both the Playbar and the beam and the beam is useless compared to the Playbar. Granted there's a 200 quid difference between them but I really can't see the attraction to it. Playing films on the beam (demo of batman vs superman at curry's) and there was no bass at all.

My biggest gripe with sonos stuff is the utter lack of any kind of audio codecs. No atmos, no DTS X, no DTS,

Like you say, depends on your needs I guess but I think people buy it for the name and nothing else.
Edited by: "SpencerUk" 27th Dec 2018
The beam is technologically advanced to the playbar in terms of voice and music services (Alexa, Google cast, Apple Music, Spotify, etc etc). Granted the playbar is a louder speaker but even the pros say that both the playbase and the playbar have sound issues that the beam doesn’t and like you say it’s several 100’s cheaper. For most viewing situations and most room sizes (including watching films) It sounds nearly as good as my atmos setup, especially with the surrounds and system setup properly... all this at a fraction of the size, hassle and messing around with of a wired setup. I would however use a separate wired system in a cinema room but definitely not in a normal living room/lounge as it’s just too much hassle and legwork with the settings etc. It’s genuinely not a badge thing as I have the choice of both and choose the Sonos. More of a convenience thing and which one will I ‘actually’ use in everyday life rather once or twice a year when my wife and kids are out. I also have Sonos speakers in my bedroom and kitchen... they just work really well and sound great.

Seriously? I mean I'm mega impressed with the HK soundsticks so I can't imagine how much better this would be.

I was contemplating buying an amp and some speakers but I am quite happy with the soundsticks but an amp and speakers all this isn't even that expensive in my opinion

I have a slightly bigger room than yours with a fairly high ceiling... and the Sonos setup you mention works great in my room. The app makes adjustments to sound very easy and there a night mode / clear voice mode too. No speaker wires as you mention trailing around your room but they do need power.

I was never blown away by HK but Sonos has just been great, every aspect of it from the sound, the app, the look and ease of setup. Just be prepared to kit your whole house out as you’ll inevitably want Sonos One’s for every other room too!
Ok thank you. I'll look into them. The soundsticks are super sharp in clarity in my opinion with solid base. I don't have my music super loud but I do like good sound quality so if these are better maybe I need to look into them. Saw a YouTube review and they looked solid.
