Is deal stealing allowed on the pepper program?

I'll always credit the source of the deal if not mine, it's in the post. However rarely do I see it work the other way as various of my deals are posted on other sites without credit. Btw i'm not on the pepper program. Regards

Accidental racism if you open the link.
These speakers are impressive and the price is as low as I have seen. You are limited, however, to playing through the Sonos App on either Android, IOS, PC or Macintosh. Your device will also have to be fairly recent, my iPad will no longer run the Sonos App. Personally I would go for the Gen 2, it costs £150 but is compatible with Airplay 2 and comes equipped with a choice of Amazon Alexa or the Google equivalent.

Well I'd never have found it otherwise. Heat from me.
Just a slight correction, ECI is THE big department store in Spain, 'par excellence'. Think of it as a mighty combination of JL + M&S + Debenhams & others packed into one outfit, making all other retailers in Spain look small

...kind of a Spanish Walmart, but more upmarket. As trusty to buy from as you can get in Spain. Therefore this is getting 🔥

They have a promotion currently discounting 21% VAT on various products including electronics. I've not looked through the site in detail but there are probably some decent deals on their site elcorteingles.es/aho…va/
Good price.

The question would be how much longer Sonos support legacy PLAY 1s with updates; with their new 'recycling' programme (bricking your legacy product to get a discount on its successor) they're promising to support any product for 5 years after release. The PLAY 1 has now been replaced by the One SL (the non-microphone version of the One). As an owner of several PLAY 1s, I'm expecting to use them for many years into the future, so I hope any end to support will not pose problems.

The other issue is if you anticipate using stereo pairs of speakers either now or in the future. This PLAY 1 can only be paired with other legacy PLAY 1s; it can't be paired with Sonos Ones or One SLs, so if you want to add to the depth of sound in a room in the future, you'd have to source another discontinued PLAY 1.

Just Googled and a community manager on the Sonos forum replied to a question about end-of-life with:
"We’ll be doing the best we can to keep these devices operating for as long as possible, but the first generation players were made 15 years ago, and a lot has changed since then, and lost more will change in the future."

This is priced right about the level where I'd be on the fence as to whether the discount (2/3 of One SL deal price) is worth buying the discontinued product.

I wouldn't worry too much - all first generation Sonos players still work fully and get the latest updates and they have now been around for 15 years, when internet/cloud streaming wasn't a thing yet they all now offer all the services available. The only thing they don't have are built in digital assistants (but can still be controlled from an echo dot or whatever) and HDMI links on the old amp/connect. Sonos are understandably trying to sell more new priducts and that's all the upgrade programme is about.

The Sonos play 1 only came out about 5 years ago and was discontinued last year. The tech in it is not much different to the One SL and IKEA devices so these will work for a very long time even if the the likes of the play:3, play:5 gen 1, connect and old amp are retired sooner (some of which have memory limitations and older wireless technology which is why they might have to be retired at some point).

Realistically how many other home other tech devices or domestic appliances are you still using after 5-15 years? Smart TVs, DVD players, digital cameras, phones, tablets, laptops, media players, internet radios, games consoles, washing machines, cookers, vacuum cleaners, irons, kettles all broken/not supported/superceded/obsolete....Sonos is fairly amazing in comparison.

Hi,yes, I have quite a few play 3,I I wonder how long it got before they stop updating them? Hi they stop supporting them then I think I I'll stop supporting Sonos and spend my money elsewhere ,as I paid good money for these speakers, they work well ,they seem that all they care about is money now,the green I monster! Shame I have Sonos all over my house

I never use the sonos app. I use Spotify and can select the speaker as the output source from the “connect to a device”

Wrong. I never use the sonos app while using spotify/Google music/tidal so not sure where you are getting that info from

Might as well jump on with every one else. I never use the Sonos app either for playback. I use Spotify connect or voice (on the Ones).

Seems like a good price to pair with a Beam, for example.
Managed to order and it says "delivery before 06 February 2020"
Granted, that could be next week but wouldn't want to wait what could be three weeks
Does anyone have any experience of ordering electronics from El Corte Ingles, and their typical delivery time to the UK?
Heat purely for this being from El Corte Ingles ! You can't go to Spain without coming across this insitution (unless you're on an all inclusive and don't venture out). Though I see someone has asked if future updates will be limited. I don't know myself but that annoys with mobiles, particularly if you buy an older one as with this. But it seems priced accordingly.

I think you have you anwer from others comments re spottify without the app...however, just a thought on the ipad, have you tried installing the app on a more upto date apple device then selecting on the old ipad from within app store "installed" - for Netflix that gives me a workable older versionof the app from my apple mini (1 I think) - it is old! so may pull down an old compatible version of Sonos for you

Some great prices on other stuff too but they don't offer deliver to the UK D:
Guess its pretty risky to ship fragile goods like a OLED TV across the channel...
Now only available in stores

You can also hook it up to Alex's or Google play if you have one of those devices. Or play directly through Spotify or Amazon Prime etc...

I haven't used the Sonos app in over a year...

Thanks for the suggestion of using the 'Previously Purchased' workaround which does indeed give the option of installing an older version of the Sonos app on my iPad 2 running iOS version 9.3.5 but sadly while it does install and connects to my Sonos system refuses to allow me to control any output.

I use the SonoPad app instead which whilst not free does work.

Shame, that sounds like it is Sonos end then.
I was fuming when I couldnt install Netflix on the ipad Mini since the hardware is perfectly capable of playing videos - I have a new bigger ipad but it doesnt have the storage.

I hate firms making our old stuff redundnat for no good reason, but lest give Sonos the benefit of the doubt given their newer firmware has probably evolved and they cant be expected to support everything

It's not for "no reason". Your iPad mini might be capable of playing videos but it no longer has the technology to play protected content from Netflix, Prime etc. There are specific minimum technical requirements for any device must meet to be able to stream secure content. Some can be upgraded via firmware up to a point then no more

You can go elsewhere but it will be the same. As technology advances old hardware must become obsolete at some point. Sonos has stuck with their products for about 15 years that's much more that be said for most of the big tech companies. I challenge you to find any of the 1st gen smart TV's that still have the "smart" features functionality. Hell, my 5 year old 55` Panasonic TV had the last firmware update 2 years ago!

You may have a point in some instances which is what I was eluding to for the Sonos situation.
However, in this case it is a blatant attempt to make you think you need to buy a new ipad since if you take the approach as above the old Netflix app is available for install and works perfectly ...it is just Apple stating that it doesnt from the App Store home screen if you have an old device.
“We are sorry to inform you that we have had to cancel the item (s) detailed below because it is sold out and it is not possible to send it to you. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you.” 😩
