Be replaced by a ‘three’ soon like the ‘one’ replaced the ‘play one’?
Can any body that has this let me know how deep the bass is. If say a play 1 was 6/10 what would you score this?

If a 1 is 6 and say a 5 is 10 I'd say it's 7.5
Got 2 Play 1's and a Play 3. Alone the P3 has a more extended lower frequency range than a P1 but not to a dramatic extent, but a pair of P1's (as a stereo pair) I think sound significantly better than a single P3.
I got richer sounds to beat Currys price for 2 Sonos ones earlier today. 299 for two

Same price @ Amazon, Currys, JL, without the 6 year guarantee.

News to me that the One replaced the Play One.

...in fact looks like news to Sonos too as they’re still happily selling the Play One:

They can’t just bin old stock dude. Same with apple when the new iphone comes out; they still sell the previous generation but at a lower price to shift the stock.
For anybody wondering whether to get one of these or play ones etc I have the play 5’s (gen 2), one of these 3’s, play 1’s and the new ONE’s.

I personally think the 3 is the weakest speaker in the range. A pair of play 1’s sound miles better than these 3’s individually (5’s are by far the best speaker in the range) but I do appreciate that it comes down to money but worth knowing if you are buying

Buttery biscuit bass
Will the Alexa integration really work? I have a dot controlling my Sonos and unless I shout it doesn't hear commands. Does the "one" reduce volume on hearing Alexa command.

Does an Alexa controlled one work with Google play happily?

i have several ones, a 3 and a new 5 plus sound bar with sub. I’ve also got a connect playing through a traditional amp and speaker set up. My take is that I would give the play 3 a seven and the play 5 a 9. However it all depends on your personal thresholds and even with true play, the positioning. Although I’m heavily invested in sonos and I love it for the connectivity and ease of use, I would also go back to my stereo setup if the wife and kids are out and there is time to sit down and enjoy it. An individual speaker is no replacement for true stereo.

Same here. I have sonos for convenience and ease of integration, with good sound too, but not close to real hi-fi setup for sound.
I have 2 x play 3s in my pool room, they sound fantastic. I also have 2 x play 5s, a sound bar and a sub in the living room and 2 x play 1s in the bedroom.
The two x play 3s are way better then the 2 x play 1s.
Why compare a single play 3 against a pair of play 1s??

Play one £134 X2 £268

Play three £224 X2 £448

Starting as most do with one Unit, Play One best way, unless deep pockets, then Play 5 2nd gen best.

Agreed, but my statement still stands - You can't compare a stereo pair with a single unit...

I couldn't agree with you more.
Based on this a Play One is a better starter for someone new to SONOS.

How well does Sonos rate with for example separates? For example zensor Dali pico?

I have a choice of either and say cost was not an issue and main source of music was tv/iPhone/laptop?

Also agree, but only if your pockets are empty as a single play 3 is way better than a single play 1

I have a Play 3, it was in the kitchen but moved to bedroom. Not the greatest fan tbh, my four zone weakest link, perhaps I'm being unfair as it is a single speaker
Something about Play One that I find appealing, and I don't own one! I did but I lent it as a demo to my brother and he stereo paired with the awesome speaker stands amazon.co.uk/dp/…6D8
He won't let me have it back!
Hey ho!

The play 1's are great for size, unobtrusive , the 3's and 5's are a lot larger. I got some Sanus wall mounts for about £20 for 5 pack which fit 1's and 3's.
