They obviously then repair the fault and sell on as Refurbished for a slight "discount".
Like I say love Sonos equipment, however dont expect a speaker that lasts, or reasonable support outside of a warranty. Voted hot though as its a good price.

Much appreciated Phunkee. Couldn't see for looking on the website!!
What do you mean when you say "they expect 70%"? As in are Sonos going to give you a partial refund of the RRP, in this case being £490?
I read it that they will replace the faulty one for 70% of the RRP, so it will cost £343 if they want to exchange their faulty playbar
Sorry for the slow reply. The RRP of the speaker is £699, and Sonos standpoint is that an out of warranty replacement is 70% of RRP. So in this case a charge of £490 to do so. You have to send the old one back to get this price.
Whats interesting is that Sonos then refurbish the equipment, and a playbar in this case sells for £549 (sonos.com/en-…tml). In other words you are only getting £70 off the cost of the replacement for sending something back that they can easily fix.
Delivery is still free its just not guaranteed one day. Hope this helps others.
That's poor customer service in my opinion, especially if they are refurbishing the damaged units and selling for a decent profit. When did you buy the Playbar though, and what did you end up doing with it in the end?
It was the start of 2014, so a semi decent chunk of time. However the speaker was prestine, power, wifi etc all worked, and it "feels" more like a software fault. In the end I purchased a Beam (I told you I love the products) via a deal here, and will keep the Playbar hoping that a new update will resolve the issues, or a fix is identified. There are companies that will repair Sonos devices, but typically its a broken power supply.
Its one of those things that if I knew before investing in the system would have caused me to look elsewhere. Especially when my Bose Soundtouch system lasted 15 years and was still worth 35% of the purchase value.
Would like to know this too
How do you find the Sonos Beam compared to the Playbar, like is it a downgrade? And is there any difference in bass when playing music or watching films?
I notice the difference, however its still a fantastic soundbar. Personally I would not pay over £300 more for what you get out of them however everone is different. For me the price of a beam plus two play 1's is a better option.
Have you got a Sonos Sub, or have you considered getting one? The reviews are extremely good for it, but the price is ridiculously high in my opinion
Not got one, and the consideration ended as soon as I looked at the price. I just don't need it with the sound of the other speakers, plus would rather use that money for adding extra rooms.
