For those who prefer to purchase from John Lewis for their impeccable customer service, I’ve already had a price match approved from the Richer Sounds deal.

Will probably be able to do it instantly in store.

I bought these second hand for about £110 from CEX a few years ago and thought this was a steal.

Just need to pop in a price match request or can do it in store with a partner and they can match richer sounds
Ah, thanks.
For those unsure, the price match form can be found here:

johnlewis.com/cus…aim

You just need to put the retailer as other and then type richer sounds and put the link to the product on their website. Complete the product code for either the white or black one depending on which you want and they normally come back pretty quickly for something as straight forward as this

Have the Sonos play 1 been reduced today? I hadn't noticed
I've always been told to price match online in-store, never knowingly been helpful when price matching in-store, lol
What gave it away. I missed out by seconds on posting the previous 15% off deal and so wanted a slice of the action this time round

It’s quite interesting that the play 1 one is still going strong with the one and it’s updated versions out. I guess some people don’t need the extra features of the one

Oh really? I’ve never had any problems. Done it a few times on tvs and Apple kit. Looks like I may have been lucky with who I spoke to haha
OP, it might be useful to add the Richer Sounds link to aid us.
Confused- why not just go to richer sounds?

Hi Sean.. sometimes John Lewis offer a longer guarentee on their products and their customers service is fantastic

It’s a valid question - some people do prefer John Lewis’ customer service. They’re great with any problems you may have. Sometimes it’s more convenient for people. And some may have vouchers from the recent deals. If memory serves me correctly, you were able to get a £125 gift voucher
Isn't richer sounds offering 6 year guarantee on this? John Lewis has 2 years guarantee.

I’m not sure. I know richer sounds do on some products. I’ve never had to use their warranties so not sure how good they are

I had used John Lewis warranty on couple of occasions in last year. For tv they asked me to contact manufacturer as within 1 year they won't get involved.
Other occasion where I had bought an Amazon fire tablet, it became faulty within a year, for that they asked me to visit the store tech support (though the item was ordered online). There's only one store in Edinburgh and it is not easy to get to from where I live, parking around that is charged or very difficult to get. I think John Lewis is just overrated retailer.

Sounds like you’ve had some bad experiences compared to most. Maybe richer sounds will be easier for you

Not sure but I would buy from richer sounds as they are offering 6 yr guarantee here. I don't see the reason to go through the trouble of asking for price match etc. Many thanks for the reply though.
The Play 1 may be discontinued next week so you may see companies selling them off cheap. The rumour is they're releasing a Sonos One without voice control to replace it

That would make sense. I prefer the one form factor but have no need for anymore Alexa enabled devices so have just kept my play:1s

I guess it's also for people who group 2 together, so they can buy 1 with voice and 1 without, probably saving them a few pounds.

And the battery powered Sonos Move should be announced next week too.

Oh that’s very true. You’re right it wouldn’t make sense having this in a surround set up which is how all my play:1s are
Here's the Sonos Move if anyone's interested, if the new Bose equivalent if anything to go by it'll be ~£300 but hoping not!

Good deal ....got a Play One coming soon I hope via the EE google pixel deal.
Hopeing the new Sonos move isn't as expensive as the newly announced Bose speaker mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

Thanks for posting and heated up
I think those who believe JL to have great customer service need to visit trustpilot Here

I've also heard John Lewis customer service is not all it's cracked up to be. Apparently, it used to be good, but not so much now.
John Lewis customer service is not what it used to be.
Richer sounds surpasses them easily
Add on the 6 year warranty
