Not a bad

price. Not as good as the airport price

of £199 (if that's still available); but it saves a lot of hassle!

I have all of the Sonos equipment (except the playbase) and this IMO is the weakest product of the lot. More expensive, but a stereo pair of P1's kicks the bottom of a single P3 and possibly also a P5.

I have a pair of P3s and together they're awesome, but individually less impressive.
If I was buying again I'd definitely go for a pair of P1s rather than a single P3 (unless you plan to add a 2nd P3 later - it's always worth thinking about the upgrade ) or a pair of P3s rather than a single P5.

I would agree with this 100%. A pair of play ones are far superior to this (single play one isn’t!)

The 5’s are a different league to this (I appreciate the price is too but in case you’re stuck between the two and can afford the difference.

This or the Sony srs x88?

Not bad at all. Around the same price it was this time last year. But probably best to get two Play 1s instead if it's your first one

I think the general consensus is only buy the P1 & P3s if you can pair them.

Ditto the play 1s comments, and don't forget that these play 3s are still 1st generation, unlike everything else (excluding the PlayBar which is also 1st Gen)

What would a pair of P3's be like ??

For the normal price of a sonos 1 with alexa £199 each two P3's would be only £22 more.

Disagree. The P1s are really good, but I'd take the P3's over the P1s, especially in a pair. I wasn't such a fan of the P5s - they are good but I ultimately preferred running a Connect as sources into a hifi set up for larger scale use.

Good price, heat added. Going for the ‘One’ with Alexa instead though.

I dithered too long back up to £249

I have an assortment of Ones and Threes and have tried the pairing combos. Pairing the Threes is awesome however not substantially better than a pair of Ones.

For what it’s worth, the Ones have some level of moisture resistance. I have one hard wired into a bathroom and it sounds fantastic in a smaller space.

Do these play nicely in areas with weaker wifi signal? Would love a pair of one's for my kitchen at the back of the house, but wifi isn't great there although it works. Not sure the hassle of extenders Etc is worth it over a lower quality bluetooth speaker,

Well yes, a pair of P3's will beat P1's acoustically, just as my pair of P5's definitely beat the 3's, which I now use as rear surround sound speakers with the Playbar. The P1's are also humidity resistant which is a bonus and are aesthetically more pleasing to me so look better in the kitchen.
