not LED - a bit cold now i have found out

On a 32 screen I prefer LCD, seems crisper. My personal opinion of course.
Heat added good price
whats this like for gaming? input lag?
I have this TV and it is great, however Sony are tossers they have told us all that they will not be adding Netflix until their new range is released. And they said they can not Retro install

I also have this TV and it is very good for the money. Been giving them some grief since I got it for the non-existent 7 free download films I should have got with the purchase promo (at the time, now finished). Their customer support seems to be a little lacking, although not as bad as some others I have dealt with.

Good deal.
looking good, but not playing avi (Divx,Xivid) and mkv files so you need external player.

Great deal, I was looking at buying the Sony 32'' KDL-32CX523 until I found this post. Freeview HD doesn't bother me, could get a separate box for that, but 5 year guarantee for FREE! It's not too often you get that these days
It's a great price for what it is but what I'm still really looking for at the moment is a nice 42"-50" non-3D Sony, Samsung, or Panasonic for around the £350-400 mark.

£290 for the 523 model which is the same as this TV but with Freeview HD. compare.ebay.co.uk/lik…t=y

No 5 year warrenty and a random eBay seller isn't as reputable as M&S.

Personally I'm waiting for a decent 24"/26" Freeview HD 1080p TV. Only the Panasonic TX-L24E3B seems to fit my needs right now but it's overpriced.
cool, if any of their offer tv's had had Freeview HD then i would have gone for one, good deal for brand name & 5 year warranty, really can't go wrong and far and away better to buy one of these from M&S than to by one of the countless budget named TV's from other supermarket imo.

I hate the tacky fascias of those unknown branded Tv's we see so much in certain supermarkets nowadays. I mean, if you really do feel you have to buy a TV from a supermarket? then i guess these M&S deals must be your best bet.
Buy today or tomorrow and 10% QUIDCO!!! bought for mother in law to be, good deal thanks

Or you can install "PS3 Media Server" and "stream" from your PC to the (any, not just Sony) network capable TV bypassing limitations of your TV... ps3 media server will pretty much decode and play anything.

Thanks

Looking at the list of file types supported, it's pretty much a NO.

I didn't know you can use PS3 Media Server with (any) DLNA capable TV. That's really useful thanks.
With 10% quidco this is an amazing bargain!

I think this model has USB play and record!

An OK price but those looking to get this for gaming should know that this is a 50Hz screen. If you play high movement games like first person shooters, racing and sports games you'll notice a lot of judder. You have to go for the (more pricey) 100Hz or more.
But if you just want something to catch up on Eastenders then you're fine
need a bigger screen. no deals like this have come up for a while with larger screens.

...and if your TV is not "found" out of the box by PS3 media server, really easy to hack the config file and add it in... plus it supports dvd covers so images are displayed on the TV as opposed to just file icons

Great deal btw

Looking at the terms and conditions on the Quidco website, it states cash back is not paid on technology/ electricals. Am I right to assume this falls into that category?

read somewhere that quidco/cashback isn't paid out on TV's through M&S and also from experience so don't get your hopes up.

Thanks for posting the reviews. Been looking at this TV for ages. Brilliant price with the guarantee.
Only thing that puts me off is the lack of series link and radio record on USB PVR which my £30 Dion has. And also the lack of files supported.
If the Quido had worked would have bought. Still and excellent price. Thanks OP

Great Deal, Just ordred one
Cheers OP
Umming and ahhing about the thickness of the TV for the space that I've got... Good price though! Heat added.

Shame about the files it supports... is there a firmware update you can apply?

Not sure I agree. Most console games are 25-30 fps (50-60hz - this TV can do 60Hz even if it's labelled as 50Hz). Therefore, any TV with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz is basically either going to guess intermediate frames to fill in the gaps or just repeat frames. I think you'll find that it's generally Plasmas that 'stutter' with low frame-rate sources because the panel response is so fast - a quick eye will 'suffer' the most. LCD tends to add a bit of blur due to its slow response, which kind of helps when viewing low frame-rate sources. It all depends on what you personally prefer, though.

The above is my semi-informed opinion, not scientific fact.

If you have a satellite receiver unit with either a SCART, COMPONENT, COMPOSITE or HDMI output, you will be fine.
