Caution: Makro don't accept returns on TVs. If you have a problem you have to deal with the manufacturer.

Is that not in contravention to the Sale of Goods Act?

Mr Carl

Is that not in contravention to the Sale of Goods Act?

Sale of goods act only applies to consumers.

Makro only deal with business customers so the SOGA doesn't apply, which is annoying.

Cheers, Des.

Not a fan of Makro

my boss took his cctv system back the other day for a new monitor and they replaced the monitor on its own no problems, maybe it is different with t.vs though, would be worth checking with them.

saying that though i've sent a t.v back and forward from samsung at their cost each time they replaced different parts until eventually changing the whole board inside, other than the pain of boxing it up and arrangeing delivery it got sorted, i imagine sony are pretty helpfull

Is this good for gaming on the xbox 360? I have a hd ready tv, is it worth getting this to replace it?

IMO you'd be better off looking at this:

I have this TV and it's excellent for gaming, slightly more expensive, but you won't be disappointed.

Thanks. Im just looking at it now :). One question though, it's only 50htz, does this make much difference when gaming or should I opt for a 100htz? Thanks

my understanding looking at the recipt when I last purchased an electrilca item is that Makro have taken the responsibility of returns/refunds from the manafacturer. it would be best to ask in store what they will/wont do. I read like I had no warrenty at all even if it was faulty. This is not to say that they will net replace items but maybe they have no legal responsibility to do so.

"Caution: Makro don't accept returns on TVs. If you have a problem you have to deal with the manufacturer."

Can confirm Ive heard horror stories regarding Makro.
In my local store they even have the cheek to have a large list of the tv and washing machine manufacturers behind the desk with their phone numbers saying if you have a defective item, call THEM!
They must break god knows how many laws with this attitude but I have seen many people argue unsucessfully I may add at the returns desk over the years, so buy from them at your peril.

Quote from the hdtvtest link:

Console Gaming
"In our input lag and subjective gaming tests, the Samsung LE32C530 performed unbelievably well, lagging by only 14ms! Needless to say, this figure makes input lag completely irrelevant on this LCD TV, making it one of the best we’ve ever seen for fast, fluid gaming enjoyment."

"This excellent state of affairs means that the Samsung LE32C530 is sure to be a hit with gamers looking for a smaller screen. We hope that its 40-inch equivalent performs as well."
