Good find and price!!

Have some rep!!! and heat!

site looks very unprofessional... very good price if they actually deliver brand new ones

isnt DLP basically rear projection through a small LCD "Slide" ?

"isnt DLP basically rear projection through a small LCD "Slide" ? "

Yes it is.

This will be as deep as it is wide! ;-)

Sorry but cold for me as these TV's have been available for this price on and off for months!

If I remember correctly, Sony no longer produces DLP TV's so this would be used, ex display or OLD stock.
:-D

I know it's a Sammy in the picture but should give you an idea of size.

Site might not be of Amazon quality but can vouch for the company from past experience many years back.
Anyone whose ever browsed "What HIFI" magazine will no doubt recall there usual 4 page + presence under the mail order section. Like Richer Sounds these guys specialise in open box, ex demo and end of line.
TV doesn't look bad for the money...though I couldnt get the sign off from the lass on anything bigger than 32"
Have given it some heat anyway as it's a worthy find!

dont even know the model number, which is a shame. this could be a really old tv (in technology years that is :D).

wtf i added heat and it droped to 18¬?!

rear projection are awful... terrible viewing angle... grainy picture why would anyone buy one of these ? 5 years ago maybe but not today ! :?

I think Sony stopped making 42" lcds quite a while ago :?

The recent models seem to be 40" or 46"

No it isn't!

DLP has a device inside, manufactured by Texas Instruments.
It consists of millions of tiny mirrors (which are moved to reflect light from a projector lamp).
A colour display is generated by either having three of these devices (each with a red, green or blue filter in front), or by a single device and a synchronised wheel (with the three colours taking 1/3rd of the area).

DLP is not the same as LCD.

My 52" DLP rear projection TV is 17" deep, not the 52" you claim.

It's quite possible Sony are using an LCD to produce the colour filter, a set cannot be LCD and DLP (as the device used to produce the display), as they're totally different technologies.

Hyperfi have an appalling reputation across the old interweb - deservedly so in my own experience:whistling:

On a regular basis they sell "graded", obsolete and otherwise not-the-best-you-could-hope-for gear, with accompanying descriptions that lead you to believe you are getting the bargain of the century!

Do some research and make up your own mind.

However, in my personal opinion, avoid this particular deal, ('cos it's cra*p!), and generally treat the company with some degree of caution.
