Although I have seen this tv at a cheaper price this does seem to be the cheapest at the moment. This price applies until 18/12/18

I'm looking for a good deal on the 65-inch failing that 55 inch unless I can get the 75 inch for around £2k
Still looking at this unit, even though I'm not sure it's gonna be best bang for buck in terms of gaming and general viewing?

This comment confused me a lot...

"Bought this TV for use with PC / PS4 and it was a death of a thousand cuts for my personal needs. Official specs list 4k 60hz and 1080p 120hz but it's via frame interpolation and not native 120hz input over HDMI 2.0 even at 1080p. Interface was laggy for input switching, and when switching between apps on the same input it would attempt to recalibrate the display itself.

It looked to be the holy grail of features but everything just fell slightly short and I got a refund. For anyone using it as a TV though I can imagine it being absolutely excellent; the vibrancy was second only to OLEDs of four to five times the price. Great for a smaller living room and 60fps content."

The person who wrote that was clearly using it as a pc monitor. Which is why he had issues.

This is the best gaming TV available for the money.

The NU8000 is another option for cheaper but it isn't fald.

Then you have the Samsung q9fn which is very expensive in comparison to the Sony.

I'm buying this TV purely to use with a ps4 Pro only

But what do you make of the response times 'issues', people have touched on them in other threads here.

I'd just be using a PS4 Slim for the moment, and there's reported to be even more lag with none HDR gaming.

As I've mentioned in that thread, someone on AVforums mentioned the response times not being an issue and the local dimming makes this set worth it over the NU8000. It's all so confusing!

There are no issues go read reviews from professional calibrators not random newbies on here

Bought it today from the John Lewis in Westfield London so...
Strange posting a deal for a tv that you have seen cheaper?
I paid £840 a while back from Richer sounds

Great TV
Seems expensive for a 49" TV? Or is the SONY badge REALLY expensive to produce ?

I know about the XF90 mate, just couldn't resist the comment
Cracking tv at a good price heat added
I have this TV, purchased a few months ago as a refurbished unit through Sony Centres Direct. The picture is stunning, especially when fed with decent HD content. Uncompressed 4K material, especially off a UHD disc is breathtaking.

However, for gaming at 1080 resolution there is quite a significant lag. This can be slightly mitigated by putting the TV into Game mode, but it is still there.

If you’re gaming at native 4K the lag is very low - certainly low enough so that my two boys aren’t complaining about it! So I guess the set doing its own upscaling of a Full HD 1080p signal to a 4K picture (from a PlayStation or Xbox) which adds the lag.

This lag comes right down if you’re using a PSPro or XboxOne X which outputs a 4K signal - so I guess this avoids the set having to do its own upscaling.

So long as you are aware of these issues, or you have a console that outputs a 4K signal then you should be very happy with this set.
