Sony's highly rated 55" budget TV at less than £600 with code SPORTS30.

I used this deal to buy it from John Lewis as they agreed to a price match, so it comes with a 5 Year Guarantee. RGB have 2 stores so I just entered their Ilford address and sent a link to the RGB website using the JL Price Match online form.

John Lewis KD55XE7003

May be of interest to others in the market for a new TV.

Good price but reviews about the OS are quite poor (not Android OS).

Took 2 hours to get back to me, but it says normally within 24 hours.
Thanks for sharing op....
I have the 43" version.
I would not recommend this TV.
Lacking in apps. Lacking in Bluetooth. Sound is not great. HDR is poor.

Not really sure what this offers over models from rival brands.

That said, this is a good price compared to what it normally sells for. The five year John Lewis warranty via price match is a useful bonus.
So on that basis I am voting this hot.

Between a rock and a hard place I went for this model for its screen uniformity, motion capabilities, low input lag for the PS4 Pro and general all round competence in most areas of interest.

The Samsung 6400 was considered but has backlight bleed issues and the stand is too wide. The Panasonic EX700 has motion blur issues and particularly bad viewing angles. LG's models in this range are poor at best. Hisense make no sense! Sharp, Hitachi, JVC & Toshiba I discounted early.

The lack of apps and bluetooth is far from a deal breaker, this TV as pointed out is not the best Smart TV around. Sound is not a concern either with a soundbar. HDR isn't a strong point either but the Sony XE90's are beyond my price range - my wife is already asking me to sell my Omega Seamaster to pay for a holiday and the TV

Thanks, order placed with John Lewis price match
Well Bestard you were right, HDR is appalling. So blurry on Sky HD and text blurry on PS4 Pro. Old 40" Samsung is so much clearer. Going back on Wednesday.

Any recommendations in may consider a non 4k TV at this stage.
