Oh if I could fit a 55 in my house I would have this!

Greatprice, but this model is over 2 years old and looking at the specs the 3D part is an optional extra (you need to buy a transmitter & glasses).

Still an excellent price for this. Hot!

In store only...

london romford store has it just checked but they are ex demo

Boiling hot...

Tempted... If it only had freeview HD...

I thought it did, I've got a 46" Sony LED with no 3d so a cheaper model and mine has freeview HD

Title should clarify that these are EX DISPLAY models and NOT brand new

it says warehouse clearance in description ;-)

The specifications says it has a High Definition TV tuner.
I would recommend getting the SUB550S stand/soundbar for this.Everyone will be trying to get rid of these because they only fit this TV
PRCDirect have it for £29 reduced from £390. It's also on ebay for £49.

I've got the 46EX503 which is older and has neither LED nor 3D but still has built in freeview HD so it would be weird for Sony to leave it out of a more modern TV like this one.

Sony's website says this does have Freeview HD

Odd if its not built in or at least included with the pack?

Sony says otherwise LOL

Sony industry leaders you gotta get in on this sensation with Bravia Engine technology.

This is a cracking deal as Sony are arguably the best company when it comes to making tvs and picture quality. Seriously I don't think some people realise this is such a great offer for this price!

Interesting - wonder for £29 how good a a soundbar it is and whether it's work with any bravia rcu? I don't mind taking the dremel to it to remove / mod the tv bracet so it'll fit under my floating sony bravia?

"Instore Only"

but looks like it'll let you buy online.

Rang them and they said it's in stock with everything, went to store 10 minutes later and the advisor looked very suspect. Went out the back and came back out and said it's sold. Then proceeded to try to sell me every other similar to in the store. I think this may have been a tactic to get people in store. What a complete and utter waste of time.

LOL.
This is the oldest sales trick in the book.
I wouldn't believe anything they tell me over the phone.
Go in-store and then ask them. They won't be able to lie to you in-store in case you tell them that you want to pay for the item and take it away immediately.

I'm afraid I have been spoilt by plasma TVs and their black levels (I can't go back to LCD, now) but I'm sure there are many people who will be happy with this LCD TV. This is certainly good value for money.

The only downside is that this deal may not actually exist. (_;)

It would be interesting if you bought this online, to see what actually got delivered OR if you got a phone call in a day or so, stating that the item is out of stock..."can I sell you this other Sony TV, which offers even better image quality".

Got the hx853 for 55" for £820.

From where?

Wow nice - My dad paid a lot more for one of these so this is a great deal.

Why are people still voting this hot and saying it's a hot deal? Did you not read my previous post? There is no tv, in fact I rang them after it was supposedly sold and they told me they still have it just to get me in store! Even though I had been there and he pretended to go look for it and said oh it must have been sold. The ONLY advisor off the phone, how is it he missed a 55 inch TV being hauled into a car in the space of five minutes? His reaction was of surprise that it's not there, clearly acting. I just wasted two pound each way on the Dartford toll and petrol money to get this tv after they told me on the phone that they have it. And are STILL telling people this. I am absolutely livid, people read the comments. This is basically a scam do not vote hot it is not real!!!!

Good question! Do these soundbars fit other models?
Edited by: "gcmarcal" 25th Apr 2013

Good for the price, but I saw these new at the Gadget Show two years ago and they're not that great. Compared to the Panasonic VT30 it was pretty poor. My main gripe was bad ghosting on 3D.

nope, but it should work stand alone - connects via hdmi. I've ordered one.

Sorry, I mean another sony models other than the above ( monolith design)

Superb TV from Sony, however it has now become pretty dated. The user interfacing, image processing and quality of their current models have improved hugely. I have a 46" model which I paid £1500 for 2 years back (with 5 year warranty and bluray player & films). Personally I think a suitable price for this older tech TV would be arround the £599 area.
