C9 is more future proof if your a gamer having HDMI 2.1
Anyone advise what makes Costco warranty excellent as a few people have mentioned it good but I never asked why
Genaral question, I've always bought Sony but is it still worth the Sony premium or have cheaper manus like Hisense caught up ?

They are just very very easy going about returns and warranty claims. Perhaps too much so as many people use them as a rental service (making up a fault and returning for a refund when a better model arrives).

Officially there's a 90 day no quibble return. In practice they'll often take a return past that. And if you do have a fault they'll often just give you a full refund. Thats our experience across family and friends.

For something like a large TV (which be a hassle if it went away for inspection/repair for several weeks) that's a massive plus. If they are in the ball park, they are our first choice for all purchases.

Wow they sound brilliant, never bought anything from then
Sounds like good old customer service which is lacking with most retailers these day
Awesome, literally bought this yesterday from Currys for £1800, means I can get the difference refunded using their price promise guarantee
I'm in Currys now but they won't price match as it's not on the Costco website and it looks to be store specific

Do they match Costco?

Apparently they match everywhere now as long as you can provide evidence that it’s a current price and in stock
Mentos20/09/2019 14:07

Do they match Costco?

They would've if I could show them an online price. Showed them this on hukd but wasn't good enough

I called earlier and they said they’d match. If not I’ll just cancel and buy from Costco
Can OP confirm which depot this was at

They really are in our experience. Perhaps too good, as some people I know really take the p**s :/ I worry that kind of behaviour will enforce a change eventually.

How does anyone get on with Costco and OLED sets with screen retention/burn
This is the only issue keeping me away from OLED sets at the moment as I don’t want to be told in theory watch Channels I can watch on a TV in case of said issues.
At the price they cost it’s an expensive purchase with a short lifespan which I’m not willing to risk.

Watch some review videos, the chances of getting screen burn are possible but only if you are have the same things on all the time that have fixed images such as sports channels.

Daily mixed use you won’t have issues.

I dont know. Hopefully I never have to find our (I bought the FZ952 from them)

But I suspect they'll take it back. To give you some examples:

- I have a friend who returned a CCTV system after 3 years as there was a minor bug the manufacturer hadn't fixed. They gave him a full refund :/

- I once returned an Android Tablet after several months as there were some annoying issues on that version of Android and the manufacturer was taking their time pushing the latest Android version.

Almost ready to take the plunge on this. Are you really happy with it. Is it worth the £1499?

I’m pleased, £1500 for an OLED is a very good price.

Wouldn’t be happy if I’d bought this at full price when it first came out, the prices topple pretty quickly

Others have said the store refused, I had zero problem.

I took a photo of the price in Costco and took it into Curry’s.

I’d already bought from Curry’s so got them to refund £300.

Was a manager who did it, never batted an eye lid

Absolutely not. Hi sense are great in terms of price point but Sony are better. You can't buy the technical know how that produces colour accuracy, Picture processing, motion handling etc.

I used to think the same until my 11month Sony xf9000b stopped working ,retuned to Costco who told me I had to go through the concierge service because of 90 day return policy.
to cut a long story short still waiting for a replacement 3 weeks later oh and Sony wanted to give me a Sony certified product (second hand)until I complained will never buy Sony tv again !!!!!!

Wow, that's not what I've come to expect from them. Let us know what happens.

Have you had many issues/returns in the recent past? I know they started to get stricter in the US a few years ago from friends/colleagues. Basically people started treating them as a rental service :/ I'm not saying you have done that, but ultimately such people started to ruin great service for everyone. As a lot of innocent people got caught up in the change of attitude.
Lol I’ve had to return a toaster with no problems
I think the higher value items there more strict as I said will never buy sony again and I’ve had Sony TVs for 30 years

They’ve just rang to say new xg9005 delivering weds lets see how long this one last
Can anyone post some more pics of the prices at their local stores please? As I might try again for a price match in Curry's tomorrow if I can prove it's not store specific...
Edited by: "burgo1" 23rd Sep 2019
Thanks guys. Blagged it in curry’s. They say they don’t price match Costco so I said it was an I store offer at Tesco. They’re proper funny about price match
Still this price in Costco. Does anyone think this will be lower on Black Friday. Also is this worth the extra money over a new LED.
Still debating about biting the bullet on this. Just need someone to give me a shove as to why I should get it.
Is the G8 the ones with the stand that swivels up & down
