Anyone have this tv? Any good?

Very good. I love it. I got it a few weeks ago getting John Lewis to price match this price. It's an OLED so the colours are really vibrant.

Are you able to recommend a cheaper alternative OLED TV, I would appreciate it as I looking for a replacement TV?

Yes of course, the LG ones (you know, LG who supply Sony).

Which model do you think? They look like they all retail for a very similar price.
Is this Sony not a 55"?

Dont talk rubbish. All 2017 oled is this price and up. The LG you referring to is 2016 and is out of stock everywhere not to mention it was at £2500 at release as well and guess what LG oled 2017 model cost? yes £2500. This will cost £1500 by this time next year. Also just because it use the same panel doesnt mean they are the same TV, it can still differ alot in pic and build quality

Well they have spent time tuning it. You put one of these alongside an LG using the exact same panel and you can tell there's a quality difference in the Sony's favour. Turns out what and how you feed a panel matters, it always has done.
The A1 is one of the best OLED out there right now

Which one is that? is it still available?
Of late it's similar trends; you either wait for Black Friday, Christmas or next March/May time to get the best sales prices. Rumours are that OLEDs aren't shifting as well this year as many bought last year as the sets were seen to mature to be worth it. This year's sets have little advantage over lasts and if you care to read the reviews you'll find they do not differ much at all in performance. To take LG, for example, they declared that ALL their sets this year share the same picture characteristics but different styling or a soundbar.
As far as the Sony being better than the LGs, well it just lost out in a review roundup by professionals to the E7.
Although there are more manufacturers producing OLEDs this year, they all use LG panels and picture variance is minor. It's more a question of when do you need a set and which do you feel looks better stylistically and in sound.

Totally agree encaser. The combination of the crazy prices a month ago coupled with the last 3D sets, (C6, E6 & G6) was too hard to resist. Apart from a slight increase in brightness, why would you pay £1000 more for this years model and lose 3D?

I expect sales to pick back up later in the year. It wouldn't surprise me if high end LCD's also suffered the OLED perfect storm of a month ago.

Yeah.
The truly money conscious will avoid sales times and wait for the next gen to be about to surface and so plump for scoping out March/May on. Plus the other substantial advantage of buying the current gen is that you'll have all the reviews from both professional and users to see if they're really worth such a large investment.
Rather wait a year and pay £499
There's being on the cutting edge, and then there's the bleeding edge.

I wonder how many people co template dropping this daft amount on a Tele, and then watch streams on Kodi boxes
Powerdirect any good? Never heard of them.
At this screen size shouldn't you go for a curved panel?

can't see the point of a TV that leans back
Thie code doesn't work, it's invalid. And 5% is £150 making it around £2750. How did it get to £2699?

Seems to be too many negatives with curved screens. I see them being alright nierfield for monitor use for example.

For my opinion, the warping effect on the reflection on the tv itself is too off putting to purchase. This has nothing to with the quality of the tv itself or the benefits of a curved screen.

Got the LG B7 55 for 1700 on prime day, absolute bargain and an amazing tv, same panel in this tv. If you really want a bargain look out for 20% off amazon warehouse days which happen now and again and see if they have any oled tv's. I was actually going to get last year's B6 for a similar price before I found the B7 on there. Can't recommend the panel enough!
PANASONIC EZ952 ALL DAY!!!!!!! Excellent picture quality coupled with a decent operating software and is the only brand to have both THX & ULTRA HD Premium certification

You paid 1700 for a B7? Surely if that was from Amazon warehouse, then it would have been a used/return/refurbished model with 1 year warranty?
