Do Sony really do quality lenses.

I refer you to these reviews dyxum.com/len…tml
They, many of them are pros, certainly think this is a quality lens.

Please do not vote cold if you are just looking for or comparing it to a 'cheap' just OK lens as oppose to a pro 'quality' lens.

Voted hot and ordered. Thanks. Was going to pay £500 for it at Jessops last Xmas but missed out and really kicked myself. Now its £400, I'm glad I missed out!

You would need a top body for this lens. If you put it on an A100 you won't see much difference to a cheaper lens..

This Sony will always be sharper than my current Tamron 75-300mm (which will be going on ebay soon), regardless of the body. Incidentally, I'm using an A550 (I also have a A200).

You'll love this lens. I've borrowed it from a friend and used it on my A700, found it easier to use than my beercan. I'll be picking mine up later ..... can't wait.

Should go really well with your A550 which enable you to use higher ISO to compensate for the somewhat slower aperture speed.

I got it for £379 in the end cos it was an ex-display model. Plus £13ish quidco. Excellent value for a £600 lens! Thanks again OP.
