£1700 for a non-4k 75 inch tv... hmm... I can think of better uses of £1700.

I concur. Get a much smaller TV ie 55 inches & spend the difference on better tech, better model which = far superior PQ. LED TV's struggle to produce even light balance across the screen above 55 inch. You can expect mega clouding and torch lighting on this TV in low light conditions.

well said, the resolution will be awesome. But clouding would be a massive turn off for video nerds. Having said that some ppl may not even notice it or are able to live with it.

would be about 4x this price if it did
Yep, you need 4K for the vast library of 4K content available today and all the 4K TV channels about to be launched. And of course all the 4K games. And all the 4K blue rays that will be launched at us really, really soon. And of course HD content upsampled to 4K looks so much better.

Thanks to ****** Samsung all TV manufacturers concentrate now on marketing useless 4K instead of improving picture quality, to at least match plasma TVs from 4 years ago. There is absolutely nothing wrong with 1080p even at this size. If the panel is decent with good PQ quality I would go for it if I was looking for new TV. Playing Forza or watching a movie on a 75" TV is really a different experience than on 55"
It's not 4K! I'm outraged! I'd write to my MP but there's a restraining order.
Some good reviews on this model. I won't lie at that size I'd rather have a 4k set, but you can't beat that price for a 75". Before all the android naysayers appear Android TV is slick, useful and I love it. It crashes from time to time but no more than my mobile.
I learned recently that you can air play to Android TVs too!

DAMN IT!! ..if they only did it in 74"
Better hope a fly does not get stuck in the screen this time.
Are you trying to claim that iOS is compatible with more things that android? Hahaha, that's the funnies thing I've heard all day. iOS is the most restrictive operating system I have EVER come across....it's awful. The only thing it's particularly compatible with is other Apple crap.
If this was an LG or Samsung I'd be going for it, seriously, great find.
Too small for my council flat. Do they do a 150 inch one?

How do you get it for £1700? Isn't it £2100-£300 ie £1800?
maybe with quidco?
its note LED TV it an LCD TV with LED backlighting
I just don't get why anyone would pay so much for a 75" TV or even want one, me I got £40 ex education dept epsom projector, £80 sound bar and a big white wall for 80" plus screen, does the job and £1580 beer money in my back pocket.

watching channel 5 benefits series much?! amazing how much council tenants have to spend on luxury items, yet claim not to have any money in banks etc. They spend it on massive TV like this one then have no money in the bank. ☺he he he...

The one year old android premium phone waiting for news of any new OS doesn't though! That iPad was supported for far more years than any recent android phone

Without this turning into a Apple Vs Android war, I do have to point out that with Android you can install any ROM you like, your not restricted to just the manufacturer's offering.

But my original post was tongue in cheek, the iPad 1 just does not have the processing power to run the latest iOS releases so its a moot point.

Anyway, back on topic, sorry OP.
With respect to the 4k necessity at this size... That is all marketing. Not so long ago you could have an 8 foot wide svga projection image which would have satisfied most home cinema buffs. There is a whole lot more to an image than the number of pixels and the truth is that most people will have a 4k set and have it looking dramatically worse than a well setup HD set. The worst bit is that most of these people are so fixed on pixel numbers that they couldn't even identify what a good image looks like - all they want are exaggerated colours, over processed and sharpened images (etc).

Any? Well, you're leaving yourself open there.

Check Google's Nexus phones. My wife's Nexus 4 must be 4 years old now, still going strong and 100% current on OS version. The iPad 1 managed but two years before Apple stopped releasing updates.

I'll bet that looks absolutely stunning...
great purchaser reviews on US best buy site. This baby is not far of 4K quality. ..and given no 4K content about except Netflix and one or others not to mention 4K version. .twice the price ..makes this awesome value.
Guys take my advice, I watched Transformers 4 on a 60" 4k OLED TV the other day, I sat right in front. I was really not impressed, and this marketing hype is fairly rubbish. Comparing to the 1080p TV I own, I couldn't tell the difference between either. The film was still an absolute steaming pile of dung in both formats.
love all the "it's not 4k" comments from people who will most likely be using a **** type android box to stream TV and YIFY for their movies

It does indeed, best £40 I ever spent.
Anyone know if I can trade in a broken tv? I have a Sony 32" tv that is solarised.
