Ok, always wondered this which is why I never posted before. Its gone really cold but no one comments?

Not sure why this is getting cold votes, only slightly cheaper than Amazons price, however I am sure knowing what Amazons super saver delivery is like, this would be delivered quicker, which is important with Sonys soon to expire £30 cashback offer.

Really dont know, I added heat myself, Amazon one got heat, its a fantastic camera, in fact untouchable for price and peformance, not a better entry level DSLR out there.

Also, the TopCashBack could give another 3% which would make it around £5 cheaper than Amazon. I actually bought the Amazon one yesterday as I had codes to use up but I would buy this today if I hadnt.

I just wish people would comment so I can get some guidance for future posting. :-)

Amazon super saver delivery is faster than DSG group's premium delivery it'll take Dixon's 3 days just to process your order and as for customer service there is absolutely no comparison DSG group's customer service is almost comical at times.I havent voted either way BTW

If you dont like go elsewhere.

Dont know so much, Amazons super saver is all about delaying processing your order because of their "Prime" service. Have not found Amazons service to be any better.

Your wrong, we use them a lot and there really is no comparison Amazon has the best customer service of any online company if you know how to use it, DSG has one of the worst, try sending you item back 9 months later when it's faulty DSG will laugh at you, Amazon will pay to have it returned to them and send a new one out straight away.

Item is fully warranteed via Sony anyway, fair point I hear criticisms of DSG warranties, but Sony do have a very decent warranty service, as stated Amazons delivery is a sham in itself unless you are a prime member, dont see why they delay processing of orders for free delivery.

Hardly a welcome, not that I need one as I have been here 2 years, but yes you expect not to have someone speak to you like a bear with a sore ass, especially another established member, for no reason whatsoever!

Good price - prefer the Nikon D60 but there isn't a great deal to chose between a lot of these entry DSLR's and often price will be the main reason

Yeah, thats why I went for this, cheaper and comparable to the D60 with the same CCD, Nikon has better build quality, but Sony has AF and Antishake built into the camera body, its all down to preference...image quality is pretty much on par between the two cameras....definitely Nikon is built better though.

Well, your attitude to fellow members on here pretty much sucks with hostility, at least however you contributed by making your thoughts felt on DSG and warranties.

SHOWMAN36;4171854

Only to ones who are so far up themselves.Suck suck suck.

And your point being? You made your opinion felt on dsg, fair comment, then "idolise" Amazons delivery service, which I personally dont agree with it being any better with Amazon, having had experience with both...then accuse myself of being supreme in knowledge (yet show supremeness yourself for me disagreeing with your supreme knowledge on Amazon) How am I far up myself? I own an A200, I come into a thread thats getting cold votes and wonder why the same as the OP and then get insulted by yourself for no reason other than what I can perceive you like trolling and deliberately winding up others.

True but, I was reffering to Showmans obvious hostility to the poster. Sounds like you won the battle anyway as posts have been deleted or edited;-)

Good deal. Very tempted but, have so far resisted the move to DSLR as I like to keep things simple:?

To be honest I dont like "winning" what you call "battles" just find it totally unneccessary when people troll for no reason other than to try and get a rise out of others.

Back on topic, you cannot do better picture wise than a DSLR, yes there is a learning curve in operation of manual control (although decent pictures can be taken on auto setting) the large cumbersome nature of these can put people off too.

But lens flexibility and picture quality is superior to anything a compact camera can do, but I own both!...not always do you want to take a DSLR around with you for everyday use, but for those important days out and special occassions....I would go for my A200.

I think its my practical side coming out that puts me off. I still have a DSC-V3 bought many moons ago for me as a gift and I still think this is too big to lug around. Having bought a 'tiny' DSC-W300 the picture quality for normal prints seems fine for my use.

However, I dont think I'd have the patience to use a DSLR although I appreciate the picture quality is always going to be superior.

Well, you probably have answered your own concerns if you dont want to lug it around. having a DSLR has to become a hobby really. Certainly the price gap between new RRP compacts and DSLR are bridging towards the point whereby more people are considering them for sure.

If its lack of flexibility with optical zoom that bothers you with a compact, perhaps consider what is known as a bridge camera instead? One of the mid size camera with a fixed 10X lens etc, such as offered by Fuji?

If i order this Sony a200 from Amazon they will give me another £30 off the camera in the form of a cheque from Sony?

You would need to follow instructions from the cashback link, I have had this recently on a HP and Toshiba offer, you will fill in a form, post your original receipt off (they post it back) as proof of purchase, then usually the processing takes up to 28 days (depending on the manufacturers terms)..Print out the cashback form, it will tell you all you need to know.

]http//ww…pdf

Amazon wont have anything to do with the cashback, you would just need the receipt details from Amazon and post that into Sony and they would issue the £30 cheque.

DAMMIT - Its gone back up to £279 - anyone know of a place where it is £240...
