Maybe I'm missing something, but why is canon going to give cash back for buying a Sony?

Don't think you can include Canon cashback as this is a Sony product.

Canon are very kind

I've been confused by this, all of the Jessie's deals people have said ask them to out through separate transactions.

Why would they do this? They are selling one product.

The Canon cashback is awesome, why not use the ao.com voucher too.

Bloody autocorrect and he dodgy hotukdeals app. Can't correct my post spelling.

Nice camera, good price, but having worked for Jessops I'd never buy anything from them.

I have asked for a split transaction in different shops, not tried Jessops though. It's easy enough for them to do it, £50 on one card, £50 on another, £50 cash or whatever. Ever been to a restaurant and had to split the bill? Each person pays £20 on their own card. Or, you buy something with cash but have not got enough so pay some with cash and some on a card.

Why does the shop care? They are making a sale which otherwise they would not get, it might cost them a tiny bit more in transaction fees, depends if it is on a percentage or a fixed amount plus percentage.

getting a bit boring seeing any mildly competitive deal from jessops being combined with separate cashbacks now

If you could actually get this for £300 then I might bite - I've been looking at the Canon M cameras that are dropping in price, but their poor AF performance amoung other things put me off

There seems to be some discussion elsewhere as to whether the £50 Amex cashback is once per transaction or once per card.

just buy 3 gift cards of 150 each then pay with those?

Jessops do not sell gift cards

50mm is worthwhile add on just for the people who are interested.

erm 30? 50?

Don't forget Nikon cash back too

great cameras let down very badly by poor expensive lens range &QC) (especially light bright tele) .. and this model still hasn't the ability to set a minimum shutter speed on autoiso (a painful issue for those forced to use manual lenses, shooting in lower light etc) ...

I still have and use a nex5r as a family/travel cam and for this it's great ... but sadly it's never going to displace my nikon dslr/lenses which is a real pity as it easily could have with a better lens range and fixing the auto issue.

not sure id bother with that lens - its the unstabilised FE version and surely be more like 100... if this cashback thing actually works in the end

i was referring to the 'i have the sigma 50mm prime' anyway... more likely the 60mm or 30mm as they both exist natively

Nothing wrong with the kit, but some of the managers thought it was still 1950. Life's too short to work for people like that

If Jessops split over three transactions, aren't they helping you to commit fraud?

If they refuse to do 3 separate transactions then simply buy 3 items that cost 150 quid in 3 transactions then return all 3 of them saying you've changed your mind bit would like another product and replace with the above mentioned camera and a 9.99 payment. Ruin the sale assistant's day while enjoying a bargain.

That won't work as you won't get the £50 when the item is refunded, it's in the terms and conditions.

Why not just be happy that you are getting £50 off rather than taking advantage of the offer like this? It's a bit ridiculous. Jessops will price match and also have other promotions so there is a great opportunity to get a good deal without resorting to breaking this up in to multiple transactions.

How on earth is it fraud? Which party is being defrauded, AMEX or Jessops or both?

Do they still sell film?

Lmfao , put through 3 transactions .. scammer

Went from Canon Eos M to this and it's just miles better, a powerhouse.

Armature question here (no pun intended, lol).

I'm taking it that this Camera is NOT a SLR/DSLR then?, or ..... thanx. :-)

AMEX customer service team has confirmed that you can only claim a max of £50 under one single card, so unless you have multiple AMEX cards this won't work if you split the transactions into several chunks

on the Amex term and conditions it says offer valid every time.

It's called a mirrorless. So basically a DSLR without a mirror.

Would be a good deal if there were better lenses available. The standard lens is very poor and you need to spend a lot more to get the best from this camera.

I agree. I bought an A6000 second hand and ditched by 70D. I've since replaced the A6000 with the GX80 which has a far bigger range of lenses available.

Oh, ok, cool.

It doesn't look like one?, so was naturally unsure of what I was looking at, etc?.

But thanx anyway.
