There's a chance when this updates the website that you can get this for £499 but the store couldn't add the £50 off voucher to my order with the free lens. It was one or the other.... Gonna head back tomorrow and see if it's changed overnight
online says all this plus £50 off voucher CAMERA50
its calculating fine for me £499 for everything
Tiptop spot & fab price even without the free £279 lens!!!

Print this bit off, in case they change it and take it in the store with you if you buy it all

Great find op heat added.
title says A600, think this should be A6000
For that 50mm lens you still need adapter (it's full frame lens not APS-C). Better to go with Amazon and 16-50 only for £452 or e-infinity for £399 (warehouse is in UK so it's shipped within days but if something goes wrong it's shipped to Hong Kong for repair).

Should the free lens show in the basket?

No adapter needed it’s an e mount lens. You can use a full frame lens on an aps-c with no problems.

You don't need an adapter, it's connected to my a6000 right now taking great photos ;-)
Hardly free when it’s £150 more than it has been for that camera and lens combo

It should but it isn't currently.... There was a poster in-store advertising the free lens offer and I was told it was in-store only but then the website updated to add it on for the weekend. I got the A6000, the camera case, and the EF 50mm lens from the Derby store today for £549.99.

Will contact customer services tomorrow about the £50 off code as the store couldn't add that on for me but I'd already got such a bargain I was quite happy

Hold on, you meant the Sony FE 50mm/1.8? EF is Canon mount.

No FE fits directly onto E and doesn’t vignette either as it’s a full frame lens. If you put an E mount on a Full frame Sony FE body it’ll vignette

That's not the same lens, that's the aps-c version. Jessops are giving away the full frame FE version which I know is an odd pairing for an APS c camera but you are then good to go full frame with that lens later on if you want. Until then it works great on aps-c cameras

Ah, yes, sorry. That's a VERY odd lens to bundle. Most be loads going spare...

Hang on.. the E version has OSS, but the FE version doesn't. Would be quite handy on the A6000!

And... even the FE version was £225 until a few weeks ago. Hmmmm....

Go into store, they'll sort it for you, it's absolutely an in-store deal, they had the advertisements up for it in Derby but that store is open till 8pm so they said technically in most stores it wouldn't of been on offer till tomorrow. My assumption is the website will get sorted then too but just head to store with the print out of the deal

I had planned to get the E version with OSS but have no complaints at being given the FE for free lol. From my initial testing with the FE 50mm and my willing test subjects our pets I'm getting great sharp shots even without OSS.... All handheld. I had heard that the OSS has more of an impact for video than it does for stills

I'd like to hear how it handles with lower lit portraits and you need to go slower shutter speeds..

I personally found OSS has the biggest difference in lower light levels.
Just sold my fuji x100 was looking for a new mirrorless. Had my eye on this.

Budget is 400 ish, need to be lightweight interchangable lens, fast-ish af.

Any recommendations?

Scorching! The 50mm 1.8 is a fab lens.

Not so sure about that. It’s a cheap, plastic DSLR lens with an extended flange rather than a dedicated mirrorless design. AKA bigger than it needs to be.

The AF is OK after the firmware update (make sure you check and update or it’s slow as hell). And the old tech motor means it’s clickety clackety and very obviously audible when focusing. So forget about video with the internal mic (which you should anyway) and give everyone around you earplugs!

All told, it’ll get you by shooting static subjects but I wouldn’t keep it if you’ve any real desire for quality and even moderate speed requirements. It’s much better on a higher resolution sensor like the A7rii/ A7riii as it pushes the lens more. But then you should be looking at a real ‘fab’ ~50mm lens like the 55mm Zeiss. You get what you pay for after all.

I’d sell the lens and get the APS-C 50mm if you want to keep the 75mm FoV equivalent, or go with the 35mm Sony for 52.5mm FF equivalent FoV which is much better for street/general shooting. Smaller, much better build, quick AF, OSS and really quiet.
So just called jessops cs and they said they have already had enquires in regards to the lens not showing as £0 in basket so the online sales dept are looking in to it to verify if the offer is valid and if the problem is with the system or its an error and not a valid offer. Glad i didn't buy last night.

Op if your going back to the store please take a pic of the offer.

Lens offer seems to have been dropped from on-line offer, only getting free case now.
Yes it looks like the guy in the store I bought from last night was correct and the free lens is an in-store only deal and it appearing on the website was a mistake. But still head down to the store and grab yourself an A6000 and free 50mm lens for £549. Still a bargain
