I guess I fall into your amateur bracket. I wanted full frame for landscapes and astro. Am I still allowed to use it? I promise I wont call myself a pro.

Amazing price
Put this with their Tamron 28-75 deal and you’ve got an amazing sub £2k setup

The problem with that lens for me was weight, extra physical length, not wide enough aperture and significantly dearer than the Tamron.
There's a good deal with the 28-70mm lens + lots of accesseroeies on slrhut, is this better?

??? 24-105 is wider that 28-75. But the new sigma 24-70 looks like a winner. G master quality but consumer grade pricing. 24-105 is a very capable lens also. The extra reach is very handy. The f4 isn’t too much a problem as the Sony sensor in the A7iii is so good on low light at 6400 or even 12800 iso the noise is easily removable in post and doesn’t degrade the image or micro contrast whatsoever. Beyond 12800 you have to pixel peep to see any kind of difference (minor ones).

But having a 85mm or 50mm 1.4/1.8 for those very darkly lit situation in door will be very useful. 50mm might be better as you can shoot in fairly close environment.
I bought my body from curry’s after cashback it was £1300. Although the black Friday deal is still the best - £300 cash back on £1700 retail plus top cash back 15% so makes it all £1150.

Get lens from grey market to save yourself a bucket of cash!

Wide enough aperture is what I wrote not wide enough focal length

I had the Sony 24-105 then the GM 24-70 and sold them for the Tamron. It’s that good! People all over photography forums have done the same

Not convinced about the weird focal range. I think that lens is almost 30mm at 28mm.
What’s this like compared to the Panasonic S1 for video / photos (aka hybrid)?
Full Frame is overrated.

It makes amateurs and third rate “professionals” feel they are “pro”.

Good price though.

I couldn't see that Amazon were selling this, it is on their website but only via 3rd Party sellers. Believe the cashback will only be valid if purchased via Amazon themselves.

Get double cashback on Sony ILCE7M3 Body and Kit.
You're eligible to claim between £40 and £350 cashback from Sony Imaging. This product must be bought from Amazon.co.uk and not a third party merchant on the Amazon platform - please check before adding to your basket. Find out more.

Cashback from Amazon’s third party seller Camera Centre UK pay out fine as they are still an authorised Sony reseller on the cashback list- I bought from them through amazon in November and did the same today so there are no worries but does contradict what the notice says on the amazon site - but on their listing says the opposite lol. Buy with confidence as my claim in Nov was confirmed when I claimed 1 month after

I wasn’t sure about merchants such as AZ Prime or Home J M, No probs with Camera Centre they are a well renowned UK retailer in their own right.

Yes if it was with AZ Prime or Home J M the cashback offer would not be applicable, Camera Centre via Amazon is fine
