Park Cameras are my go to camera shop and they have just emailed out that their Sony Black Friday deals are live. I bought this camera from them when it first came out at £1,999 and I love it so I'd thoroughly recommend it. For £1,454 after cash back you get the camera and two memory cards - and one really good one - for free. Plus you can get 2.3% back on quidco so near enough £1400 all in.

I own this camera, everyone always comments on the fantastic quality of the photos. If you want to shoot in RAW then I would recommend at least 64GB if you regularly transfer photos else 128GB. Don't skimp on the SD cards though, pay extra for the higher speed cards because this impacts how many shots it can take in quick succession.

However, it is only as good as the lens you put on it. I would do my research and depends on what you would like to photograph. e.g. a portrait prime lens vs a budget prime lens vs a wide angle lens etc.

Personally, I use the SEL50F18F and SEL28F20 as a starter set. Cost vs quality comparison puts the 50mm F1.8 as best bang for your buck. Don't forget a screen protector, because these things really catch scratches and I am glad I put a glass hard protector on it.

Please ask questions if you have any.

What’s this compared to the A7Riii & A7Sii?
How is it double cash back???
Useless without a lens, they may as well sell a brick.

they just emailed saying it's £300 instead of £150. Site is only showing £150 though! But this is the standard amount and so double is £300.

the a7R III is the high resolution version of this basically, albeit this came out after so it does have some other features. The a7S II is the older video based option and really good in low light, but they must be about to replace this with a mark III soon. This is a hybrid option that's good for stills and video.
Empire hut is selling this at 1455 already. I managed to get curry’s to match it and waiting for my cash back from Sony.

When was that? It's not showing on Empire Hut at the moment. Also is that 1455 before or after cashback?

That was 2 weeks ago. I got curry’s to price match as I was concerned that empire hut can’t fulfill order. And it is before cash back. So will be 1305 after cash back. Need to wait out another 2 weeks.

Nice, good to know Currys will price match. How did you get them to do it, in store or online?

no, people have lenses already, so what's the point of them bundling in a lens, there's an option to buy one with a lens
