Or get an adapter and a cheap manual legacy lens, and you're set

I second that.

Minolta MD are impressive on the NEX series

Hi can it display a virtual vertical bar in the viewfinder? I can see it will display a virtual horizon. With nikon the virtual horizon also displays a virtual vertical.

I know, Im happy using adapted canon and legacy lenses on mine but to be fair if you want the best sharpness and CA/flare control you need modern optics. I use the Samyang 85/1.4 most of the times, specially after dark.

I think it's only horizon, but not 100% sure. Never had the need for vertical, I just use 1/3rd grid to align vertically. I'll have a look when get home.

Thanks. I have tried using the grid (on a nikon dslr) but need something that stands out more (considering a move to full frame mirrorless, ideally a z6 but that's a little too expensive).

It does show you tilt angle but not by way of a bar but yes you get the visual aid to maintain level up down left and right tilt

Still a superb performer and any decent full frame glass on any system is expensive.
Lovely camera for the money. The Sony system has come so far, many good lenses from a number of manufacturers.

Everybody(almost) knows, that Sony glass it's more expensive than the dslr equivalent without necessarily been better and without many affordable options, but fair enough as until recently was the only mature full frame mirrorless system available. But with Canon and Nikon focusing on mirrorless from now on, I have the feeling that soon this will change.

That would be fair if the Sony glass wasn’t such high spec and performance but you look at any gm and compare to the canikon equivalent and price/performance is always on a par
Great price. I like mine apart from the horrendously loud shutter. I feel embarrassed taking it anywhere. Take a photo and everyone looks.
Great little camera. Love the shutter sound on this thing.
Sold out already

Can you not just shut the shutter sound off?
At this price it's tempting to get this as an extra video angle, only thing is I'm not certain about resolution. The description says 4k, the reviews I've checked out say 1080p. Can anyone confirm either way?
Good catch.

1080p
Fantastic price! I've got micro four thirds but tempted to leap into full frame at this price! Low light high iso performance is what is important to me.
Great deal! Managed to grab (the last?) one, thank you so much for posting it

Looks like they're out of stock now though

No it's a physical shutter, not electronic.

It sounds like someone dropping a dustbin lid (almost).
WOW! Fantastic find! congrats OP

I bought mine at 709 after cashback about a year ago, which was the lowest price going until now. Gutted I missed this
I love my A7II, this is a steal. I did a video about it recently which might help explain some of it's features -

It is superb for photography but a little lacking for video as only 1080p and slow focussing. The Tamron 28-75 f2.8 is a superb lens to go with this.

But you can use silent/electronic shutter if you want. I have it on my a6300 and on my A7 so S7II must have it.

No you can't. No electronic shutter. Isn't the a6300 a lot newer? Unless there has been a firmware update I've missed. Lots of talk on different forums about the lack of electronic shutter.

My Olympus omd em10 ii has an electronic shutter which I use more.

You are correct. Double checked my A7 and it does not have silent shutter and I have looked at manual for A7 II and it is the same - no silent shutter. I could have sworn my A7 had it ...

It's why I rarely use mine now. The a7rii does.

Thanks I was too slow but it would be a big change for me to move away from nikon due the lenses I already have. This was a great deal though.
