Very good price for this camera. Cheapest by far for a reputable retailer (only cheaper on Wowcamera and E-infinity I think). I'll wait to bite until the A7 IV comes out. Hopefully I can hold myself back until then 🤞

Hoping they drop the price on this especially now they have some competition we need a £1000 A7 lll Sony !
I own this camera, it is superb. It has been cheaper than this with cash back deals etc, but as a straight buy looks to be the cheapest it’s been so heat from me!
I bought this with a kit lens via Ebay brand nearly two years ago now for less than this - think was around £1200 so surprise still at £1599 for body only! I've since purchased the A7R IV and have the A7S III on pre-order so may sell my A7III for £1200 with kit lens on ebay lol
Hot for the price and the camera is good spec, just be aware that Sony are strongly rumoured to be bringing out a new full frame camera with official announcement possibly mid this month.

The new camera could drive the cost of this one down a bit more so if not in a hurry then might be worth waiting a few weeks
Did Minolta ever charge this much or has Sony improved the quality (or brand) massively over the last ~15 years?

Minolta charged about 10.000$ for the RD-175 in 1995. A lot of money for a 1.75 megapixel camera, but it was one of the first DSLRs.

I would say that the E-mount bodies are priced competitively. All the camera brands have hiked up the prices and are focussing mostly on their priciest cameras. Smartphones have pretty much killed off compact cameras and entry level DSLRs/mirror-less cameras, so the manufacturers have to make their money from these more expensive models.

What's the point in comparing grey imports that are always cheaper?

Seems that will be A7c - so not a direct competitor. But essentially a more compact full frame camera with similar specs to this one, and a bit more expensive (I heard 2100 EUR)

Had this camera since February and the Tamron 28-75mm lens. Recently picked up the 85mm sony 1.8. Great camera!
It’s now £1699 on Amazon
