You're surely trolling? You know there's more to a camera than megapixels?

Like a lens to capture the image which this camera doesn't have.

Aye that's kind of a feature of cameras with interchangeable lenses. They don't have a lens.

You're also suggesting not to get this and get a camera twice the price. People who can afford the A7R IV will get it, and people who are budgeting in this price range, will get this.

Mega pixel on phone vs large dslr/mirrorless is completely different. You can have a 12mega pixel dslr which will blow away a 24 mega pixel phone camera. Because the sensor is larger. Dynamic range is superior. Low light capability is light years ahead.
Wait for cashback offer. Sometimes sony has double cashback with £300 back.

Wow.. that's a lot of money for a camera that doesn't even take a single picture without investing another few hundred quids on a lens

They could make it 500 more and give a lens you don't want or need.

Hey, tempt is the resident troll on these camera deals we don't need another one.
Good price but the Sony winter £300 cashback offers brought it down to £1400 ish recently. Cracking camera body worth every penny
Don't feed the troll.
UKCameraClub are doing this A7III for £1,548.97, UK stock and 2 year warranty + free extra Sony battery and SanDisk extreme pro 64gb sd card.

Was £1350 with the winter cash back which was an amazing price
Not sure if this is for everyone but amazon are telling me you can split the payment over 5 months. Might be helpful if you dont want to pay it all upfront.

UK camera club do not have a UK Sony warranty and also are excluded from any Sony cashback deals.. euro import and warranty through them only
That's a lot of money with no cashback.
