Sony BDP-S185 Blu-ray Player with 8 Free Blu-ray Films £77.99 @ Play

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

The bluray player on its own can be had for a little less than the headline price but that is without these free movies:

Green Zone,
Battle Los Angeles,
This is It,
The Adjustment Bureau,
HOP,
Twilight-New Moon,
Spider Man 3
2012

Its not a bad selection, probably worth the bulk of the price if you tried to go out and buy them yourself (but then again, why would you CHOOSE to buy a Twilight move :-) )

"It's not a bad selection" - yeaah, but would you buy (m)any of those if they weren't 'free'? Not a bad deal - nearly free stuff for not much I guess

Just don't make me watch 2012 again.

I dont think you can get Netflix on this but it is a nice player.
"With these reduced dimensions, comes a similarly diminished specification: the player isn’t DLNA compliant and can’t stream content across a network."

Although...

this player does not support Cinavia copy control

Nice deal, I don't need to buy some of them paying extra money if I get this player, which looks great. The price is not bad. Thanks a lot.:)
Suppose it depends on your priorities but for me I would pay a bit more and get 3D with wifi built in e.g. the samsung BD-E6110 £100 on amazon / dixons. Comes with £50 credit for movies too.
SCORCHIO...............8)
To be honest this is quite a good deal for a decent blu ray player anyway. Let alone the fact that you get 8 free (albeit not that great ones) blu rays with it! Heat
Is there something wrong with the Play site? None of the style-sheets seem to be loading.
Nice deal, Heat added
Am I right in thinking that this pops up at this price alot on play ? And is this the same player that was £40 a few days back at comet ? I know that was just for the player but is if you can find it at that price again it, is £38 expensive for the films it comes with? I've never looked at blu-ray players before so want to make sure that this package is actually as good as it sounds ?!
Great deal.

It was Dixons, but yes - the price was £39.97 - Took delivery of mine this morning.

The cheapest I'd seen this player (on its own) before that was about £65-70.
Poor Blu Ray Player compared to the other budget Sony offerings, no on screen display, no SACD support, if you can live without the poor Blu Ray film selection you would be much better off buying a X80 or X90 series Sony Player.

Warm from me at best this deal.
it will/does have Cinavia as it is part of the firmware update..

so only useful as a standalone player
Cold. top loader VHS miles better.
Cold..... Sony has an inherant problem with buffering on this (and other models - google it) and they don't listen to customer feedback. Lovefilm and Iplayer become unwatchable at times. I know, as I've taken two of these back to Tesco and theres nothing wrong with my fibre internet.

You are lucky..
I posted the other deal from Dixons after placing the order.
But they sent me an email mentioning the refund :-(

Yes we ordered this thinking what a great buy, but just received an email saying is now been taken off sale. I would not mind if it had been out of stock when we ordered it but that was not the case. It has now made me think twice before ordering anything off there again.
