Great price for a player that has received a great review in What HiFi and continues to be their recommendation.

OK, it is cheaper from Richer Sounds on Boxing Day but I reckon I'd have more chance of a threesome with Britney and Christina then I would of actually buying some an advertised item from RS.

Same price at Amazon if you prefer them...

£79.95 from richersounds

£79.95 from richersounds

From that link:

Available from 26/12. While stocks last, not available to reserve - this product is sold on a first come first served basis. 1 per customer / household.

Which means they might have one per store and that's probably been bought with a nudge-nudge wink-wink for a friend ... the chances of actually being able to buy one from RS for that price is remote!

Good luck queuing - I delayed too long when the Play £5 voucher was available at this price last time.

I concur about the RS price - only a lucky very few will actually get one...............

Really tempted to get one of these. But, do you think there will be any better deals on Blu-ray players in the coming days (i.e. January sales)? I can't imagine this one will get any cheaper though......

What's the chances of this coming with any free blu-ray discs?

About the same as Blair being convicted of war crimes. Shame though.

eye lol'd

they did have the blu-rays inside the boxes of these players recently, unless now everyone has sold promotional stock and then are dropping the price to get rid of the ones with out the blu-rays

good price though cos its a decent player

dixons are selling it for £99.99 delivered, 3% quidco from there compared to 0.5% quidco from play.com. So £97 vs £99.50 after quidco.

I would never recommend buying electricals from Play. Been there and caught out!

The UK distance selling regs dont apply, they are in Jersey, and so other rights are missing too. They did not want to know when mine failed less than 40 days after delivery. Got a simple talk to the manufacturer.

Amazon, with great customer service, sell this player at the same price. Order there.

I managed to get the 560 version for the £40 more

Which also means that that price will be for the mythical 'Region 2' player that they never seem to stock - but have loads of the 'Multi Region' converted ones at £20 - £30 dearer
'because our customers prefer these!’ I'd prefer the choice - and spending a few mins with a 'one-for-all' remote multi-regioning it myself!

Where is the 560 at that price please? Thanks

:whistling:
not much to crow about. bar connectivity, very little difference to make paying more worthwhile. 360 better value for most people at this price.

can you unlock it to region free? i really need a multiregion blu ray player cos i got lots of stuff from the US

Think its already region free.

I agree about Play's Customer Service. Two digital photo frames I ordered came wrapped in grey plastic only. The boxes were battered to say the least. Play's reasoning - they don't want to have to pass on the expensive cost of decent packaging to the customer!!!

Amazon every time when the price is comparable!

currys will be doing the same player for the same price on boxing day.

My situation couldn't have been better.
They were helpful and fast.

I bought a netbook last November (NC10 had just been released).
There was a fault with it and they had a courier pick it up the next day and a new one delivered a few days later.

I was a bit worried when I discovered the fault because I thought I would struggle to get a refund or replacement.

I believe RS will do the region free version for £99.99 (if you can get one!)

The law in Jersey changed from 01 Sept 09. Jersey does now have a 'sale of goods act'.
cab.org.je/ind…=59

I still prefer buying from Amazon as they're less hassle, but Play can't hide behind the fact that they're based in Jersey anymore:)

Feelin hot, hot, hot......

Great price - this has really gone down. If I hadn't got a ps3 slim recently, would have got this. As it is, got too many boxes.

Great deal though.

2nd that, never got a reply to 4 emails for a DOA graphics card, will never use PLAY again. **** em

I saw this when RS deal came up. Overall its a case of if you can get one at RS on boxing day. I have 2 stores near me so I may try. I think the hdmi cable is cheaper from play! RS tend to do only certain brands. I doubt they will spend hours haggling on boxing day over price.

Is this worth 352 heat? Prolly no as most places are selling for exactly the same price with a full year return policy.

Hence why i vote this cold. As its possible to buy £20 cheaper on boxing day and its similar price to most electrical websites.

Just got this from comet for £99.99 and came with 3 films!

Its now 94.99 on Play. Still better value elsewhere with free films.
