Quite a good player and DVD multi region hackable if you've got a harmony (a bit long winded though) or one for all.

Forget the Blu-ray (as good as it is) it also has BBC iplayer HD, Channel 5od, youtube, DLNA certification (plays loads of media formats from a NAS drive/server/usb), got mine a week ago from Tesco (£99.97) and its brilliant, even plays Blu-ray rips (mkv format) over the network HOT.

I hope Amazon will match Play's price soon as Play doesn't ship these outside UK

I am in the same boat, I would so hope that play changes their policy about outside UK shipments - and lets us pay in sterling and not at the ridiculous Euro exchange rate used...

Great machine - was lucky enough to have £50 of clubcard vouchers built up whilst we decided on their use so got this for £49 last week from Tesco!

Would love to be able to get a wireless adapter for this but not so willing to pay £70 for Sony's, so has anyone managed to get another make of adapter working with it?

is there anyway to got on to sidereel.com or TV duck and watch american TV shows through this?

You'd be cheaper getting some home plug adaptors and using a network cable, thats what i have done and it works a treat ebuyer.com/pro…665 these are not the ones i have but they would work fine, i got mine a few months back from yet another HUKD bargain :-)

A google search shows lots of 'one for all' remotes, is there any particular one needed?

Harmony remotes seem very expensive.

No, but I could send the unit back and re-order a new one at the lower price, this would work out more costly for Amazon.

Cold as same price from Amazon, a much better retailer. Stopped buying from Play due to late deliveries and indifferent customer service except for dirt cheap items.

Check out your local richer sounds if the y have this in stock.. they were selling this @79.99 in the sale. I've picked mine up on Boxing day.. dam good player and definately recomend it.

"Quite good" is something of an understatement - the Sony blu-ray range are blowing away the competition at the moment!

Does this play 3D at all ?

Does this play 3D at all ?

No, you need to go for the S470 or S570 for 3D.

Thanks

If you have a 3D movie like Avatar on Blu-Ray, are you saying that it wont work with the BDP-S370 if you pop on a pair of 3D goggles? Will 3D movies only work if the Blu Ray machines and your telly also say 3D? Or is this just a marketing gimmick? How do people watch Sky Sports in 3D without having a 3D box only a HD one? I'm confused. Do I need a BDP-S470 or BDP-S570 to watch Avatar or will it work on a BDP-S370?

A Sky HD box is also a 3D box as it has the software built in , as for the Blue Ray players you need one that outputs 3D

So there's no point buying Avatar if you have an S370 as it wont play through it?

Not sure if it will play normally in 2D, don't know myself

I think I will probably just get this one from Play. 3D will probably give me migranes anyway and the BDP-S470 is £60 more expensive anyway. S370 @ £90 and the cheapest I see for the S470 is around £150.

Hi-def 3D blu-rays are encoded differently to 2D discs and require a 3D player to interpret the disc and a 3D TV to output the picture, connected together with a v1.4 HDMI cable. I don't know what the outcome would be if you put a 3D disc into a non-3D player, but it would probably result in an error message. Using a 3D player attached to a non-3D enabled TV would result in a blurred picture and a stinking headache!
