having a look at various sites for one of these blu ray players and came across this deal which i thought was a bargain its the cheapest sony BDPS360 i have seen on here.
i did order one of these on the robertwhyte site for £86.99 but got an email saying theres no more in stock.
so I hope this deal is useful for some people.
The 3 Blu Ray Films that come with this are Angels and Demons, Slumdog Millionaire and Terminator Salvation

How do you make a blu ray player play 5.1 though? My curent dvd is hooked up to surround sound (all came as a package). Also what do you need for blu rays? I have a Samsung LCD tv

Buy a Samsung Blu-ray player, it will compliment your Samsung tv and you can use "Anynet" (built in to Samsung products), this allows all your Samsung products to be controlled via your television remote.

Weird that when you get to checkout the price goes up to £119:?

Price now £119.99

When you get to checkout its £109.99

Are these not £99.99 at Comet still ?...

I got mine last week at that price instore.

good deal. though some people got the same player from comet instore at £100 with the 3 movies.

when i went to comet 2 days ago the price was £119.99 for them instore and they disabled collection for the £99.99 price on their website.

not too bad of a deal, wish they were charging £99.99 tho

anyone ever heard of play.com?

Play offer doesn't include the free Blu Rays. Also, 3% Quidco at Dixons (v 0.5% @ Play). Hot for me, but I suspect the price of BluRay players will continue to fall this year as they become more and more mainstream...

£10 cheaper but I cant see anywhere saying you get 3 free movies on play.com
play.com/Ele…tml

Edit: You are comparing it to this, which is much more expensive

Obviously you can't read, play.com sell the standard bluray player for £97.99 but this deal is for the one with 3 bluray movies which play.com sell for £130+

Play.com are a big online retailer, have used them a lot and not had problems but others have not been as lucky as me.

This is a better deal I think, £99.95 but is multi region for DVD: hotukdeals.com/ite…aye

I missed the RS and Comet deals so got mine from BLOCKBUSTERS

£129.99 got me this excellent player the 3 movies listed above Plus Fast and Furious Blue Ray
AND £20 worth of rental vouchers to use in Jan, Sweet as a nut!

Ps Slumdog Millionaire is just fantastic!

Still at comet for £99 incl the 3 films

Yes they will continue to fall in price as the future is Media Players

i posted last week that comet seem to only have the version with the 3 discs and will price match richersounds. worked for me i go it for £79.99 . give it a go in my opinion

lots of ways but simplest is you need an amp and speakers.
your current setup might be fine depends what inputs the amp has, you may need to disconnect the dvd player so you can plug in the br player
just remember to check the blu ray movie settings also as some strangely dont auto set to 5.1

Only if you have a really good broadband connection. I reckon I could order and get a disc delivered before my connection would download a Bluray movie :x

I'm going to pop into Dixons for one of these on Monday or Tuesday. I hope they will have some left by then.

LOL, Dixons don't have physical stores no more, haven't been for a long time, online only now.

found it on their website yesterday, was quite tempted to get one at £110, but hesitated and now that they've sneakily jacked the price up by £10 when added to the basket, even with the discs the deal looks less tempting now, stupid companies why do things like this, just lost a potential sale!

prices on Currys/PCWorld website are more expensive than Dixons even though they are all in the DSGi retail group, probably because Dixons are online only, so they "say" they can offer cheaper prices

Play.com had the player for £95 yesterday but also jacked their price to £98 (just because of vat increase?) so in effect compared to Dixons you're paying £22 extra for the movies, not very good imo, as personally I only wanted the Terminator movie, wait a few months all 3 movies will be down to £6-£7 each anyway.

btw the OP should amend the price, or the deal should be expired, Dixons have now updated the price of the product page to £119.99, cheaky.

sonypc100;7396908

Still at comet for £99 incl the 3 films

They certainly aren't in mine. Offer finished a few days ago and they are back up to £130

Dixons have increased the price to £129.99 the cheeky *******s.
