Multizone AV are doing a free multi-region (for DVD playback) upgrade when you buy this Blu-Ray Player. Next cheapest I've seen is Richer Sounds at £139.95 for MR version. Possible Quidco as well. Current £5 off voucher is not valid with this offer.

All expired/no longer available. Plus I posted this specifically because it is the multi-region version which none of those were. Saves paying £25 for the special remote you need to unlock it. As I said, next cheapest is Richer Sounds at £139.95.

Would it have played MR BluRay or just MR DVD? I didn't know there was a crack to play none R2 BluRay.

Just DVD.

I bought mine from Tesco and before scouring the net for a MR DVD crack, I tried playing a disc just in case, and lo and behold - it worked! It plays all region DVDs out of the box.

I have seen so much talk on forums about an absence of a MR crack for this player. I have to wonder if all those people just tried playing a different region disc, would it just work, or did I just get lucky? Tesco is the last place I would expect to find a ready hacked player.

That's interesting. Not entirely sure to be honest. All I do know is there are plenty of step by step instuctions for a MR crack using an AllForOne remote. Might also explain why Tesco are now charging just under £160 for this player.

Some Sevenoaks Sound and Vision stores may still have new stock for £99 but if not and you have CEX exchange vouchers, cex.co.uk they are doing A grade versions for £95 and B grade ones for £85. I tried inserting a R3 DVD into mine but it wouldn't play it until I did the MR remote hack using a Logitech Harmony
