For a 32" Sony HD this is unheard of pricing. Absolutely stunning value for money for a gorgeous television that beats all its competitors to death by a wide distance.

Whats great about this TV? For the price it must be on the bottom rung of the Sony TV ladder?
Plus I'm not a great fan of LCD technology in TV's. I'm not sure why they stopped making Plasma's?

A low-end Sony still beats high-end of all their competitors in my experience. This is gorgeous television with phenomenal Bravia Engine technology for the best of everything.

Just tried Lakeside M&S and they closed their electronic store last week.
Tried Bluewater M&S and they are selling it for 379£ and they cant price match it,
The gentleman told me that most of M&S are closing their electronic sections and that could be reason for selling that cheap.
I wish I could get one of those at that price.

Rang Bluewater M&S again and asked when are they closing their electronic section :P
She said, they are planning to close it, but they dont have definite dates yet
Cant keep an eye on them....well this is excellent price, and I need one for our 2nd bedroom.

Bolton Only have X Display models on sale.

Was £279 in Handforth

so the 6 in bolton are all x display?oO

Delusional comment.

To disprove your remark, all anyone needs to do is read some reviews from reputable sources.

Sony are sh!te nowadays, i prefer Samsung, and this is coming from a huge Sony snob

This is a 3 series too, will be average picture quality compared to everything else in the range, because they're higher

sony tvs are much better than samsungs in general, both sony and panasonic are the best tv brands, samsung is good but no match for panny and sony.

No one beats Panasonic for TV's as far as I'm concerned. Them, Samy, LG, Philips ALL come before Sony - I might even get a Tosh LCD before a Sony one, and that's saying something.

Agree 100%. I've tested them all extensively Sony is far and away the best.

I'm a TV engineer and service various television. I've been in the business for years and Sony's parts are by far much better quality than the rest. However Samsung i would rate as second best, Sony and Samsung use each others parts, and even the LCD screen sometimes. Hope this helps. As with all brands Sony has a low end range but the quality is the same.

For 185 its a good price but it is a low end set

Just replaced my 1 year old Sony Bravia 46"under guarantee with John Lewis, got a samsung instead.
Try google for Sony Bravia "Black lines on Screen"

Wait for another 6 months and you will be changing it to different brand.
I have used all sort of brands, and found Sony and Panasonic T.V's on Top. There are too many problems with Samsung Tv's. My Neighbour Tele 4 months old is intermittent now. Mind you I am not anti Samsung, but when it comes to TV, forget Samsung, they may be innovative but not reliant when it comes to quality.

(N.B: Using Samsung Media player, Home Cinema System and Galaxy S II)

Curious here. Better than Panasonic and Pioneer? Those tend to get the best reviews and I don't mean the paid press.

Pioneer stopped making tvs ages ago.(they made some amazing plasmas).
Panasonic is as good as Sony.Panasonic makes best plasmas, and very nice Lcds,Sony does not make Plasmas, only Lcds and some of the best Lcds in the world.

Which? Magazine April 2011 ... 'avoid Sony's disappointing 300 Series'.

When will people wake up to the fact that a Sony badge does not guarantee quality & performance?

Do some research & consider the specific product on it's actual rather than perceived merits. Read the reviews. There are some excellent Sony TVs, but they're generally > £500.

This deal will go red hot because it's cheap & has a Sony badge & a 5 year warranty, & irrespective that it's mediocre.

no doubt panasonic tvs are excellent, but so are Sony's.its a well known worldwide fact.
samsungs are okay, but the other brands you mentioned : Toshiba,LG and Philips are not even comparable to Panasonic and Sony.
any AV expert/technician will confirm this.

havent read that review but such review's are based on full initial price of the products not the bargain price of £186.for this price your other choise would be local grocerry stores own brand chineese/east european junk lcd tvs.with body made of recycled plastic and picture quality in par with crt tvs of 1970.

The reviews for this are not as good as the Samy one posted last night.

I know the lad who says he's a AV engineer and someone else said AV experts will all tell you, BUT, they must only be saying that because it keeps them in jobs repairing them. Anything Sony we have owned hasn't lasted much beyond the 12 month warranty. I find their TVs: buzzy, slowy, faily, junkish. And look at all the gaffs they've had in recent years with PS3s failing (and the rest!) all them laptops that melted and Lord knows what else.

I think the placebo effect has to come into play when someone says they are equal to quality. That was decades ago (maybe), helped along by great marketing and a lack of competition. In my experience, as a consumer, Sony fail big time. On the other hand, LCD TV technology is the biggest fail - it's prone to konk out no matter what the make.

I've had Philips TVs and PC monitors and they just keep on going and going where a Sony would have gone chips looooooong before.

What I said about I'd choose a Toshiba over a Sony before was a bit toung-in-cheek mind - Toshiba really need to stop making flat panels and just give up; they're next to useless.

Funny that because i was in the TV game for years and yes Sony always were the best of the regular consumer market. I've always been a massive Sony fan because i like to have the best of what's reasonably affordable, and despite people raving about Pana and Samsung. After recently trying the Samsung LE46C750 then moving on to the Sony KDL46EX503, the Samsung beats it hands down, with very little price difference.

I'm that disappointed with that set and other Sonners, and the fact you have to buy transmitters...AND...3D glasses after spending a huge amount on a 3D ready set, with rubbish quality as experienced in an in-store demo, i'm really not impressed with Sony

good deal, voted hot and i bet without looking that pathetic horace been and posted, anything wiv a sony badge gets a hot, bet his misses is a sony betamax vcr, pmsl

Which? Reviews deliberately omit price as a review criteria, & reflect only the following... Picture, Sound, Ease of Use, Features, Power Use. It's left to the reader to decide whether a TV is good value for money.

if they have this under €250 in any of the irish stores, I'm so buying it

someone pick me up one? and set up a FS thread

I saw it in there on Saturday at this price too. Machester city centre branch and Trafford Centre have already closed their electrical sections but I remember them selling ex-display models for something like 30% off. Which considering most of their prices are high anyway and not being brand new wasn't even worth looking at.
But I will go into another branch later and try to find this bargin!
