Default 12 months return to base warranty?

same price at sainsburys

Pennies cheaper at ]Richer Sounds (excluding any delivery charge?), but excellent on-site 5 year warranty for under £30 extra means the RS deal has more of an edge over Play, assuming you can find stock.
Suspect end-of-line.

It is instore only, so no delivery possible!

Original quotation was attempting to draw a comparison to Play's price with inclusive delivery (or free delivery if you prefer Play's marketing hype).
A one year warranty for a branded item seems exceptionally poor - surely Sony have more faith in its equipment, especially as allegedly lesser brands commonly offer 3 years.
If Play's warranty is return to base, I would like to see who is liable for packing and delivery costs both ways, hence the attractiveness of Richer Sounds' sub-£30 on-site 5-year warranty complete with loan set.

If an item is not fit for purpose i.e. breaks due to no fault of your own. then the product has to be replaced at no cost to the consumer.

Rubbish quality on Freeview, shop around for something better.

Good luck with that.
Not a challenge, just an observation:
Your optimistic statement may apply to ethical mainland suppliers, but Play are based on the Island of Jersey and Play's t&c state:
"...It is a "return to base" warranty therefore there will be a delivery charge to return the product back to the relevant UK service centre..."
It is reasonable to assume that the customer is also liable to suitably pack the item as well, and
"...These Terms are subject to the laws and exclusive jurisdiction of the Island of Jersey, Channel Islands..."

Quite frankly, Play's warranty t&c are far from acceptably practical for an item such as a TV.
The "10% of purchase cost" Richer Sounds 5-year on-site warranty inc loan set is a no-brainer for items such as these.

Yup agree with what you say about play and richer sounds guarantee. I was just trying to defend my post but obviously Richer sounds is the safer option!

Rep for your input on this thread

play -----well if you want to play - return for repairs - and play " pay the costs" lovely game if you have time and money

Hot price from me.

Good price for a Sony, think this is the same model as the one here at Comet?

Might be useful for those who are concerned with Play's warranty.

Like someone said on another thread, what is it with TVs and Richer Sounds on HUKD? Every time a TV is posted, someone has an alternative to post from RS. They must love the promotion.

£399.95 + 5years warranty for £40 more
for 32" kdl32ex403 at RSounds
full HD with freeview HD better sound and Brava 3 engine.
:gift:
OR kdl32ex401 £388 with 3year warranty at Amazon
same spec as 403 but with freeview NOT freeview HD.

Flipd;8765573

suspect end-of-line.

the sony ssEXnnn TVs are the new models replacing the ssSnnnn,V,W,X and X notation (ss = size, nnn is model number)

I think everyone came to understand the higher the letter the better the TV

I haven't grasped the new ssEXnnn notation yet, but chances are the 301 is the bottom of the range by some margin.

You still have to pay 400+ for a halfway decent LCD unless you get lucky with an end-of-line model
