I wasn't voting the 5 year warranty cold, i was voting the fact that this is a pretty normal price for this television set. Heck Sainsburys had it for as little as £260 in my local store earlier this week. This place i meant has an optional warranty for practically the same price from the same place. My point was it is a pretty standard price for a pretty average television and it is no way "hot".

I love peoples insta "troll" and nasty replies here. For <£300 you can pick up a Samsung LE32C530 which is a much superior set :

- nicer panel and so better contrast
- Samsung has a better picture processing in there television sets which goes a long way to making standard television look much better. The general deinterlacing and upscaling is much stronger
- Has Media playback from USB which will play back all files inclusive of HD MKV files
- Accepts 1080p over VGA meaning that a PC can be plugged in using not just HDMI but an analogue connection ( Only Samsung sets support this )
- Finally it is 1920 x 1080 resolution. Whilst this means practically nothing for watching television. If this was to be used as a computer monitor or close up for 1080p gaming from a PC it will be considerably sharper.

Take a look at some reviews:

In regards to the Sony television Overall this is an average television at an "OK" price. Its time to get off your high horses people.

yes would be a good deal if I could find it

I have just got the 301 and its screen is poor - lots of shadows and residual images for fast moving things like movies and sport.
Good sound and extras like the usb/divx but wish I'd never got rid of my LG... :-(
Not voted as I got it for this price from John Lewis with discount.

whats the response time for this and is it good for gaming? i.e has it got gaming mode on it?

That does not answer his question.

You will probally find over the comming weeks & months that M&S will have lots of instore deals as they are getting rid of there technology depts instore and moving all technology to online only.

these will be cheap no freeview hd built in which will become the norm in 2011 but a great bargain buy and then get an hd box great warrenty too

I think the problem with your first post was the lack of context and detail.
Having read your follow up post, you've got a good point. So good retort, fair play to you sir

This wasn't a question... it was a comment, of being "cant find this on the Mand S website", to which i replied " IN STORE ONLY" this usually contravenes to being instore and not on their website. To further reply to their comment of "yes would be a good deal if I could find it" i would reply , Telephone your local store for availability, if not available, try other stores or M&S helpline.

This deal is not that great M&S also do the 401 model which is the model up looks better and has full HD @ 1080p this tv is 720 !

In fact i bought my sony bravia 32ex401 this morning for £299 with 5 year warranty could scan the receipt so the deal you mentioned is good but the one i got was better.

marksandspencer.com/Son…63S

sony.co.uk/pro…401

Worth paying the relatively little extra for the 403 model which comes with FreeviewHD. Models without it will become cheaper and cheaper. Not cold if you are happy to forego HD (but why?) but not hot either.

Not quite, there are a few others including the delightful 703 I bought a couple of days ago

Where is the best price on the 403U?

its only 50hz so for gaming you be better going for the 100 hz ex503 tv link with sony vat offer works out about £408

Why is this so hot? They're desperate to offload these and they'll go much cheaper within a month I reckon.

WARNING. I've got a 32" LCD. Its not ******* big enough. Excuse the language, but people said "no problem" Its just too damn small.

It's not too small for everyone, depends where it's going how far away the viewing area is from it.
