Thanks, looks like a good deal:) I've added a price and a retailer name to your title, we always try to include these when posting deals.

good one am looking for a 42" in same price range, any suggestions ?

Is this the same one that was £449 on Monday ? Or was it the W range, which is the better model.
Still a good deal but nothing compared to the deal on Monday at M&S

The Z4500 is better.

The Z4500 is better.

thank you Chanser. as columbo would say, theres just one more thing, i dont have a hd box for my digital channels, will this tv upscale/improve the picture??

All TV's upscale freeview or you can buy 2010 TV's with Freeview HD.
Check the freeview site if you can get Freeview HD or not.

Though this TV has Freesat and Freeview, so you can get BBC HD and ITV HD on freesat already and BBC iPlayer via network. The reason I said the Z4500 is better is because of the 200hz processing. Panasonic 2010 TV's already or will have Freesat and Freeview HD built-in.

plus FREE 5 Year M&S Guarantee with this product and 5% Quidco

can u buy these instores?

Expect a few price reductions on discontinued Sony TV's as the new 2010 Bravia range has just come out. The series to watch out for are the EX, NX and HX range.100Hz motionflow starts with the KDL-**EX503 range and they have Freeview HD built in with wi-fi capability and a new clean design.

The V model has 50Hz screen while the W has the 100Hz. Is there any other difference?

The Z4500 is really old now, it was replaced by the Z5500 and the Freesat Z5800 and now thats just been replaced by the HX703 which really looks the business and is a big improvement on the Z series as you don't have to adjust the motionflow settings

200hz is more than you need anyway, the human eye cant see more than 100hz so it's kind of waisted really

dont think this has got 100hz, would rather go for this

For anyone with a Costco card I bought this at 550 quid last week, with 5 year warranty too.

Could somebody check and see if this tv comes with a free Sony bluray player? I.m sure it did last Thursday in store.

Good heavens, what utter drivel.

I think you'll find that the human eye is sensitive to frequencies well up to the blue end of the spectrum.

colour? isn't that a different form of frequency we are talking about? light frequency =/= refresh rate frequency.

just asking

Not a great price for a 40 inch TV.

Buy one of the Panny plasmas- can get a 50 incher for about a £100 more (one was £20 more on this site the other day).

Yes the 40W5500 is 100000:1 contrast ratio yet this one seem's to be 60000:1 big difference imo:thumbsup:

Wow did a Google search and the HX703 looks stunning!!

Wondering whether to upgrade my KDL-40V3000 or not.. I do love it though; it's stylish, 1080p and have never noticed any problems with motion blur.

Loads of these in Costco Ellesmere Port - £552 inc vat and 5yr warranty.

I'v just gone from a 5 year old KDL32Vseries Bravia with 50 hz to a KSDL40Z with 200hz and the differance is amazing:thumbsup:

Hi,
Yes, you are correct. It said the FREE Blu-ray player was worth £149. I just missed the £449 deal which would have been amazing.

You are correct-from my 'O' level physics I seem to recall that frequency is the number of cycles (could be anything from refresh rate to waves) in a given time-usually in seconds and the units are Hertz. The frequancy for TV sets refers to refresh cycles per second. Frequancy for light refers to numbers of light waves that pass a given point per second. Frequency in these situations is measuring completely diferent things.

sorry but sony products havent been that great since they started having stuff built on the cheap around eastern europe, i think today there over rated and over priced, panasonic every time A+

 Oh my god, if you are going to be a rude troll you should at least know what you are talking about and not make yourself look like an ignorant idiot. Refresh rate has nothing directly to do with colour.

And yes, the "Hz race" is mainly marketing. Your better of with a good quality 50hz panel than a poor panel that compensates with "100/200 Hz" interpolation. It needs to be turned off anyway for most things.

The Hz figure is not the same thing as Hz was on a CRT. Most people around here seem to think it is. But its only an 'effective' Hz. Its a system for frame doubling.

Didn't say it did.

Anyone claiming that the human eye isn't sensitive to frequencies above 100hz is talking garbage.

this is only a 50hz tv, but you do get a free blu ray player, also its only home delivery, silver lining to a pretty average TV

>100hz on LCDs are mostly useful for sorting out motion blur (a major lcd problem). You need a proper review to tell you if it works OK or not, in particular a lot of cheaper sets have rubbish quality interpolation that creates more problems than it solves.

W is better....100hz for fast sports etc (motionflow), avoids blurring. Sony series (the 'older' ones as new models are out) progress through this system:
S (basic), V , W then ultimate Z.

Could any one please let me know some decent HDMI Cables. I would be very great full if any one provide me a link.

thanks in advance.

The cheapest you can find. There is no difference what-so-ever between expensive and dirt cheap HDMI cables, other than build quality. If the work they work, they are digital and you wont get any improvement in picture quality.

Bought one yesterday, Sat 18th April in Braehead, Glasgow M&S with free Sony Blu ray player, BDP S360. No sign saying blu-ray free. Told there weren't any left. Worth £100 of anyone's money. Telly comes as stated with 5 yrs warranty and 2yrs for blu ray, inc installation.

Got this with the free blu-ray player the other day. Also had a free M&S gift card after buying a sofa so got the deal for £449. Winner in my book.
