For some reason if you go to the front page the LCD TV is £999 with only 12 months warranty and no hard drive free view dual layer DVD recorder or 5 year warranty. If you click on the package deal then you get everything in the heading for £1099.

Sorry if this is all messed up this is my first attempt.

I'm voting this hot and am giving serious thought that this is the deal for me (been waiting a while, though I was really waiting for a good 50" deal)

Am i missing something here, the 46inch is £999.99 and the 46inch with a FREE Sony Recorder is £1099.99, how is that a free recorder ?

Did i miss something ?

lol, actually you're right. I originally thought the extra £100 was for the 5 year warranty but it does say that is also free

even so, the TV is on most other sites for £1200+ elsewhere and having seen this one in the Sony shop I was quite impressed (but not at Sony shop prices!)

I'm not saying it's not a good deal, i think it's a great deal, but still £100 extra is £100 extra and no explination on the site as to why.

If you are indeed getting the recorder & 5 years free....very strange

definitly worth a phone call to them in them morning, though I doubt it will change anything

I'll post what they say tomorrow

If you seach for that recorder its over £200 and the 5 years warranty is worth £250 also the Which report on the 40" s2010 is a best buy. When I found this the other day the TV on its own was also £1099.

tv is only 1080i

On the contrary it is only 720p, a 1080i signal would have to be downscaled. Anyhow the whole 1080i/1080p debate is fairly irrelevant with an LCD as they are natively progressive anyhow, interlacing only becomes an issue on CRT. You have to remember that 1080p is just the signal the tv receives, as long as it has a panel of 1920*1080 it is full HD.

Spoke to Nick in sales who confirmed the 999.99 price for the package so it pounds good!

And netiher the 40inch or the 46inch havea DVI inputs! Kekekeke!!!:-D

Only 720p and 1 HDMI port, not a good buy at that price.

Well there is no reason why you cant plug in your pc via dvi to HDMI seeing as they are really almost the same thing. Also show me a branded 40"-46" tv that does have a dvi input?
