Silver version of the black TV 40xd8088 posted at the same time.

Brand New - 12 month warranty.

2016 model.
Silver frame.
VA Panel (better blacks / contrast but worse viewing angle apparently)
Obviously not a 10 bit panel before anyone asks.

At this price, it's probably better than any other 43" or smaller 4k TV, despite not being a current model (other than the black 40xd8088 posted here at the same time for a few quid less).

Thanks heat
I've got this tv, got it 9 months ago and paid about £100 more than this. An excellent deal for an excellent tv in my opinion..
Is this worth the extra £60 on the Samsung 40" 6400? It's 2 years old now, and only has a 1 year warranty, but if the picture is much better than the Samsung I would be tempted.
I have 43xd808 model I got from Tesco 15 months ago same price of Argos, good TV

I'm not sure you are going to see a large improvement over that specific Samsung.
Both have VA panels and are both on the small side.
That Samsung is one year newer model than this Sony.

I tried the Samsung 6100 40" from Richer Sounds and thought the picture was really poor - hazy, poor colours - so had to return it. Has put me off Samsung! But the Samsung 6400 is said to have a better picture (8bit +FRC) than the 6100. Space means I can't get a larger TV than 40/43". If the picture on both will be similar I'll go Samsung due to the warranty

I'm waiting for the 40mu6400 to drop below £350 personally.

It was that price early this year, and may well go down when the new Samsung range is launched. Wish I was in a position to wait and find out! I was really surprised that the 6100 was so poor given it's a Samsung 6 series.

You may want to consider the Panasonic ex700b too.
It came down to £380 or something. Less than three weeks ago.
