The 49XE8396 might be worth the extra £15

What’s the difference between the two models?
I think the 8396 has 400mhz Vs 100 or 200 MHz motion flow.
I have the 43 inch 8396, lovely TV very happy with it.
I have the black version of this (The xx77 in the model number indicates it is silver).

Very nice TV.
Only major downside IMO is the slow Android system. It can take several seconds for a response to the Home button being pressed for example.

I suspect this TV will come down in price shortly. I'd wait for it to drop below £550.

Voted hot as this is currently the cheapest price and it also comes with a 5 year warranty.

It's the same tv spec wise it's just a difference in colour (KD49XE8396 BLACK) (KD49XE8077 SILVER)
I can’t make the code work?

Edit. Not available for delivery and collection only but nowhere near where I live.

No.
The xe83 models have faster 100/120Hz panels versus 50/60Hz on the xe80 models.
Ok thats strange, I spoke to sony about this last week, they said they are identical sets both 50/60 hz.

Same panel , Just a different colour.

The last two digits from the 4 digit model number denote differences (within the model family) such as colour.
For instance 8004 (and 8005) is black, 8077 is silver. Both of which are part of the xe80 family.

Same TV by the look of it just different coloured stand.Doesn't help when Currys have their own model numbers.

Yeah it's quite confusing i did phone the Sony centre who told me the only difference is the colour,

KD49XE8396 (black bezel, silver stand) and KD49XE8077 (silver bezel, silver stand) both have Motionflow XR 400Hz (Native 50Hz)

This is a link to the 8 series spec on the Sony website.

Have been thinking about the 8396. Anyone think it will drop in price soon? Are there usually more discounts tomorrow on the Bank Holiday or is Easter not really a good time to buy a TV?
Hard to say similar TV 8004 was £429 a few months back.I'm going to wait a few months as the 2018 range filter through and older models are discontinued hopefully getting a price cut.
