Nice price for 55' Sony but HDR is very poor on this model. For Sony I would personally only go for xf9 series at the moment.
The input lag is apparently horrendous too, nearly 100ms in normal mode and 40ms in gaming mode.

Will this be good for watching footy?
Is this android?
I would expect a software update to be rolled out pretty swiftly to address the lag issues other than that it seems to be good value for money especially with the warranty.

You get what you pay for especially when it comes to HDR and 4k...if you care about that sort of thing as much as I do lol

This is £580, of course the xf9005 is a lot better but also over double the price. This goes for everything in life

Worth checking Sony centre website for refurb and clearance tvs as I picked up the 55XE8596 "rated 9/10 on av forums" for exactly this price for an A grade refurb just earlier in the week.

It’s the 800 series up that are fully android I think
I bought this model in the summer to watch the World cup, was a special offer through A.O. I view from about 3.5m and think it is a very good set, well worth the money. Also it compares well with my L.G 65 oled view'd from 5m.Heat from me.
Unless they have changed their menu system, I will avoid their TV's like the plague. A pain to do simple operations, Previous channel button, Nope. View programme schedule and select, at least 3 selections. Remove support for apps/programme guid without explanation. No thanks Sony, I'll stick with Samsung or LG I think.

HDR is nothing more then a label on budget and mid range sets. It's a premium feature you have to pay for with the xf9005 being the entry level set

We have the xf850, don't know if the specs are the same but they can't be far away but we think it's great in every respect and we did research with a lot knocking it.
Why does it says watching this 49” tv in the description when it’s a 55” tv?
Anyone no what the sony kd 49xf9005 is like for veiwing thinking of buying one the 55 inch is to big for were i want it.
thanks you nice people out there .
From what I've been reading up on, is Dolby Vision the next best standard in TV? It all sounds impressive but it's hard to find out as there are so many fake reviews around (on everything).
got the xf90 delivered yesterday it's amazing and worth the extra £400 over this XF70 in this deal.

however if you can't afford it then this is okay. won't wow anybody like the xf90 though
Who did you buy from
Not hot for me, either spend more for a set that can do HDR like the Samsung 55 NU8000 , or spend less on an even cheaper set (i.e. Hisense 6100/6200). Just my opinion.
I really wish my girlfriend would let me buy this
Buy in store only

Not if you're an Everton fan or related to Jordan Pickford!
