Great saving, seeing as the 2018 model is in a similar price bracket and the next cheapest deal I could see was £1260

See webpage for more details.

Sony’s XG95 4K Ultra HD TV combines class-leading picture quality, immersive sound, and Android smart technology. With a Full-Array LED Backlight, cinematic contrast means bright sections are brighter, darkness is darker, and the contrast between the two is sharper than ever. Its TRILUMINOS display is beautifully colour-rich, while Sound-from-Picture Reality tech perfectly matches the audio to the on-screen action. The Android platform opens up a wealth of online content, you can control it by voice with the Google Assistant, and its minimalist design is supremely elegant.

Save your money if you are after an android tv and go for the Philips 7 …Save your money if you are after an android tv and go for the Philips 7 series 55 inch for £500ish .

This is undoubtedly a much better picture
Thanks OP. Have just placed my order.

I missed out on the x900f deal and am glad to finally see this come down in price quite a bit.

The comments about laggy UI are nonsense. It has the X1 Ultimate processor unlike the x900f and AG8 which still run on the old Extreme chip. The input lag is also lower and it comes with the new Sony remote.

Only drawbacks is the viewing angles aren’t great and no HDMI 2.1

Nice face shame about the legs
Recently I am getting a lot of unwanted alerts for things due to some people tagging their deals with fake keywords e.g "software" but on a deal for a TV. This isn't "Software and Apps".

beware of the laggy Sony Android TVs. I have got one, which had gone faulty after unsuccessful update to the firmware. Sony is saying main board needs to be replaced which is as expensive as a new sony tv.

Why not just buy a vestel then?

Doesn't work like that .
You look at the specs .
And weigh the options and quality up .
For the money (£470-£580) the Philip's offers a great 4K picture, has android ( if you want that )
A top end voice control remote control with full querty keyboard on the rear .
Has the P5 processor which everyone seems to rave about .
And runs really smooth .
That's why I chose it .
For £1000 , I would be expecting a lot more than this laggy TV .

This was tagged as Electronics only so not sure why that is..
So with what everyone says about a clunky UI, would that affect users like me who have everything via a single HDMI input? I'd literally just need to turn it on and control the volume.

If you don't use the interface for things like Netflix, etc, then no probably not.
Because it is posted in software I guess.

That's odd, posted a new add using using the app and selected electronics category. Maybe this is part of the issue you mentioned.
Way too much £ for just an LCD.

The mediatek chip drives android not the X1 which renders the picture. Fantastic TV you will love it.
Anyone complaining about laggy software - simply disable youview.

I've got it from Currys and compared all the TV's picture and colours and this one was just better than all the others and I went in with the idea not to spend more than 700£.
