Sony’s XG95 4K Ultra HD TV combines class-leading picture quality, immersive sound, and Android smart technology. With a Full-Array LED Backlight, cinematic contrast means bright sections are brighter, darkness is darker, and the contrast between the two is sharper than ever. Its TRILUMINOS display is beautifully colour-rich, while Sound-from-Picture Reality tech perfectly matches the audio to the on-screen action. The Android platform opens up a wealth of online content, you can control it by voice with the Google Assistant, and its minimalist design is supremely elegant.

HDR with Dolby Vision
HDR deepens your view and shows shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. This set supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision.

4K Ultra High Definition
This 55” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:

Sound-from-Picture Reality: Sony’s Acoustic Multi-Audio system adds two sound positioning tweeters in the rear of the TV to the bass reflex speakers, for precise alignment of sound with vision.

X1 Ultimate Picture Processor: Powering the display is Sony's X1 Ultimate processor which intelligently enhances brightness, detail and colour.

X-Tended Dynamic Range PRO: This TV has six times the brightness range of a standard LED TV (based on comparison with Sony conventional LED TVs without local dimming), for brilliant whites and deep, rich blacks.

4K X-Reality Pro: Upscales non-4K content to reveal extra detail. It analyses every pixel and improves contrast, colour and sharpness for increased clarity.

TRILUMINOS Display: Expands the colour range beyond conventional LED displays for a richer, more lustrous image.

Super-Smart Android Platform
Developed by Google, you'll be able to enjoy seamless entertainment, intelligent search and the latest apps from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube and Google Play.* This TV features a special Netflix Calibrated Mode for studio quality content, and it’s also compatible with Alexa devices. Apple Airplay and HomeKit compatibility is also supported (may require a future firmware update).

Android TV with Google Assistant
With the Google Assistant built-in, you can use your voice to find your favourite programmes, apps, videos or music, as well as search for information and more. You can also control connected smart devices in your home (smart device control depends on compatibility). Chromecast built-in casts your videos, photos and apps to the TV straight from your smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) via Wi-Fi. There are also hundreds of apps and games available for you to explore in the Google Play store

Excellent quality screen. Far natural picture compared to Samsung
I have owned this TV for a couple of weeks now and it is fantastic.
John Lewis wouldn't price match?
How does this compare with the 2018 model, which is currently available for a couple of hundred less?

The XG9505 gets brighter with HDR, has faster smart TV and marginally better picture processing, so upscaling is a little better. It also has 4x HDMI 2.0 ports and supports eARC whilst the XF9005 has 2x HDMI v2 and 2x HDMI 1.4 and doesn't support eARC..
No idea, I was looking at the 9005, this isn't much more and has better sound I believe.
Samsung q80r or this?

Oh yeah I forgot about that comment.
If only Hdmi 2.1 for that gaming future proofing.
I understand this set has the capability to support hdmi 2.1 and someone on a forum manually updated the firmware and Sony took the post down. If Sony wanted to they could update this and the XH95 to support hdmi 2.1.
So is it correct you can get sky go / sky q app on this tv?
Looks like Curry's have added an extra £50 discount code. If you can stock the codes then potentially the TV would cost £805.

Scrap that. I have just tried it and you can't stack codes so clearly better to stick with the stream144 code.
