XE9005 is superior. However, you do pay premium for that. Depends what your needs are. If its merely watching casual TV you probably wont notice a difference. If its HDR 4K film viewing/gaming you will notice the difference.

Just checked RS and it looks like KD-65XE9005 is only an extra £300

I plan to use for watching HDR Netflix and PS4 Pro, will probably fork out the extra for the 9005.

Although pretty hard to get your hands on these days, the XE9305 is the best performance to price ratio. Much improved input lag and better HDR. But with it being a discontinued model you might have to go with the 9005 if you can't wait for another TV to drop in price.
As I have said in other Sony tv posts never had an issue with android OS being sluggish just disable that tv programming app (forgot its name) and you are good to go I also have a feeling its a result of people not properly closing apps which i cant blame them since i don’t think it tells you while setting up

Was on RS website earlier , saw some - richersounds.com/son…tml
Really don't know weather to bite at this or not. Definitely want a Sony 65" Android TV ready for the World Cup. I'm tempted, but you can bet your bottom dollar, a better deal for possibly a better spec will be just around the corner!

Sony's TVs are some of the best. Probably the best.

The current (2018) Sony models have XF in the model number - BUT they have not really improved the picture quality since the XE (2017) models. Most of the deals - and the best price/performance will be on the older models.

There is no equivalent to the XE9305 for this year - it has been discontinued The XF9005 does exist - but only adds Dolby Vision HDR to what the XE9005 can do - and it seems to cost ~£400 more (as it's a new model!)

There won't be any more new sets before the World Cup - but there could be some special deals I suppose.
